"Actions are judged by intentions, and everyone will be rewarded according to their intention. So, whoever emigrates for the sake of Allah and His Messenger, then his emigration is for Allah and His Messenger. But whoever emigrates for worldly gain or to marry a woman, then his emigration is for whatever he emigrated for."
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)
In Islam, intention (niyyah) is the foundation of every action. As Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "Actions are judged by intentions". This means that the sincerity behind an action determines its value in the sight of Allah ﷻ.
Whether in worship, charity, or daily interactions, a pure intention transforms ordinary deeds into acts of devotion. A person may perform the same act as another, but the reward differs based on their purpose—whether to seek Allah’s pleasure or worldly recognition.
Regularly checking and purifying our intentions helps us stay mindful, strengthens our connection with Allah ﷻ, and brings true barakah (blessing) in our actions. Let´s renew our intention for the sake of Allah ﷻ!
