Ossining Tomorrow: Have you weighed in?
Saturday morning I joined the Ossining Tomorrow team on a field trip to the waterfront. Have you weighed in yet on the Comprehensive Plan update (aka Ossining Tomorrow)? Click here to comment on the Ideas Wall, respond to the survey, and check out the new Interactive Map.
Last week we held village board meetings on back-to-back nights to make up for postponing the previous week in the wake of the storm. Tuesday's meeting opened with a lengthy exchange between electeds and staff as we debriefed on the aftermath of the storm. Click here for Tuesday's agenda and video link.
Wednesday evening's work session had a heavy agenda. Ossining Innovates presented to us about their new partnership WEDC (Women's Empowerment Development Center) in their mission for inspiring and supporting inclusive entrepreneurship. Participants from their inaugural cohort attended the meeting.
A next step for the Comprehensive Plan is related to the NYS process for environmental review. We anticipate voting on a positive declaration at our September 2 meeting which will prompt a deeper level of stakeholder and public engagement.
Hudson Crest (aka Hudson Steppe) was also a topic of conversation. They have all of their approvals needed to build, but they owe hundreds of thousands in back taxes. It’s not clear if they plan to get funding and build something, or if they will sell the property. The soonest it would be eligible to be foreclosed upon is next year.
Summer Vacation!
I'm taking some time off with my family so there will be no Open Office Hours this week or next.

Wednesday Meeting
This week's village board meeting includes two items in New Business related to furthering our goals to make municipal government more accessible online, and one item related to our goal to reduce our carbon footprint.
