New Community Mural Honors the Hands That Feed Our Region

A new public mural is transforming the exterior of the AWARE Food Bank into a vibrant tribute to the people who help feed our communities.

Spanning 18 feet high and 64 feet wide, the mural celebrates the vital role farm workers play in growing and harvesting the fresh foods that nourish families across the region and beyond. More than a work of art, the mural is a powerful statement of community pride, dignity, and gratitude for the agricultural workers whose dedication sustains one of the region's most important industries. As a community with deep agricultural roots, Woodburn recognizes the lasting contributions of farm worker families and the essential role they play in shaping the community's identity, economy, and way of life.

Give Blood Thursday, June 25!

Every summer, hospitals having blood supplies on hand is critical during the 100 deadliest days between Memorial Day and Labor Day. During this time, more folks are taking vacations and not donating blood as frequently, and simultaneously hospitals tend to see an uptick in traumas and emergencies with more people adventuring and road tripping where more accidents happen.

Help stabilize the local blood supply in our region by donating with Bloodworks Northwest - the local, independent, nonprofit organization managing the blood supply for 95% of Pacific Northwest hospitals right here in Oregon & Washington.

Woodburn Public Library Blood Drive

Drive is open to the public – invite a colleague, family member, or friend to donate with you!

For questions, including those about eligibility, visit www.bloodworksnw.org/eligibility-checker or call the Bloodworks Northwest Donor Care Team at 800-398-7888.
