HOW RIVERTON CITY MANAGES IMPOUNDED ANIMALS AND ADOPTABLE PETS |
Every day, Riverton City Animal Control encounters dogs, cats and other animals that have escaped or been abandoned. To keep these animals safe and taken care of, they are transported to Stone Ridge Veterinary Clinic, at 1381 Stone Ridge Lane in Riverton. While they wait to be reunited with their families, a contract between Riverton City and Stone Ridge allows the animals to be housed and well cared for.
If after five days impounded animals have gone unclaimed, they are listed as being available for adoption.

FINAL CALL: UTA TRANSIT NEEDS AND PRIORITIES SURVEY |
Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is working on a Five-Year Service Plan. This plan will outline a vision for UTA’s future service. They have invited community feedback via a survey.
At present, Riverton has 0 bus stops from UTA. We have 0 rail stations. The only service offered by UTA in our community is the microtransit service Via, which gets very limited ridership. Yet, UTA collects over $6 million from Riverton in sales tax revenue generated in our community each year.
We encourage all Riverton residents to take time to complete the survey to provide feedback about how UTA could serve our community better.

DO YOU HAVE A PET PREPAREDNESS PLAN? |
It is estimated that nearly 85 million American families own a pet. That’s 67% of all US families! A 2021 study revealed that 83% of those families live in an area impacted by disasters, yet less than half of them have created a pet preparedness plan.
Your pet preparedness plan may vary slightly depending on the needs of your animal, but it should include an evacuation plan for your pet, contact information for your local animal shelter and a pet preparedness kit that consists of food, water, medicine, first aid, a collar with an ID tag, a harness or leash, traveling bag, any sanitation needs and familiar items to help reduce your pet’s stress. Don’t allow your pet to struggle because it is missing essential items.
