Throughout the rest of the evening, the Elections Department plans to update results hourly until we have completed tabulation.

Have a question?

Elections are complex and have layers of procedures, policies and legal guidelines from the state and federal government from which we administer the election.

From election equipment and polling places to ballot security and chain of custody, each process we perform is based in statute and industry best practices. If you have a question, we want you to ask us! Click the link below to send us your question and we'll feature one we get from the previous newsletter!

This month's featured question:

What happens to my early ballot after I place it in the brown early ballot bag at the polling place on Election Day?

On election day, "live" ballots voted at the voting location are inserted in the blue ballot box by the voter. Individuals who return an early ballot can expect to place it — enclosed within its affidavit envelope — in the sealed brown canvas bag and securely transported to the Pinal VOTES facility for bi-partisan processing by receiving boards at the end of the night.

Once a count of the ballot envelopes is completed and documented by election officials, we transfer the ballots to the County Recorder's Early Voting division for signature verification before we accept them back for processing and tabulation.
