For over 25 years, I have sponsored an annual Holiday Fundraiser for Verde K-8 School in North Richmond. This year, we are raising $6,000 to provide every student with a book and a school sweater, which will help instill pride and encourage reading. As part of the year-end event, we will decorate the school and distribute gifts. The books we gift will celebrate diversity, unity, and overcoming barriers with the support of community and friends.

Join us for our Holiday Party and Open House on Thursday, December 12th 5:30-7:30 PM at my office at 11780 San Pablo Avenue, Suite D, El Cerrito

The students at Verde School are bright and talented, and also carry a deep sense of hope for their futures. Despite their potential, they face significant challenges in one of the most impacted communities in the Bay Area. Each student comes from a family whose income makes them eligible for free or reduced lunch, highlighting the urgent need for support and resources to help them thrive.

I have represented North Richmond on the Board of Supervisors for over 25 years. Verde K-8 is the only school in North Richmond and plays a pivotal role in community initiatives, celebrations, and gatherings. I encourage you to join me and many others in supporting our future leaders and this critical community asset.

When we invest in our children, we invest in our collective future.

All donations must be received by Thursday, December 12th. You can donate here or write a check to the non-profit "CHDC of North Richmond" c/o 2024 Verde School Drive. Your donation can be mailed to my office at 11780 San Pablo Avenue, Suite D, El Cerrito, CA 94530.
