Safety Share: Drowsy Driving

November 1–7, 2026, is Drowsy Driving Prevention Week, making it a timely reminder of the risks of fatigue behind the wheel.

Drowsy driving may be a concern when employees travel between worksites, drive service vehicles, transport equipment, make deliveries or commute after a long shift. Fatigue can affect reaction time, judgment and concentration, increasing the risk of an incident.

Watch for warning signs such as heavy eyelids, drifting between lanes, missing turns or exits, or difficulty remembering the last few kilometres driven. These signs should never be ignored, particularly when driving work vehicles or travelling on highways.

Read the attached Safety Share from WorkSafe Saskatchewan for practical tips to recognize and prevent drowsy driving.
