The Big Ticketed Shows & Workshops

We're officially on our way into The Big Out There, and we're bringing along some BIG shows and workshops. From cattle calls, Canadian tuxedos, and cowboy classics to cast iron cookery, leather carving, and poem crafting, our shows and workshops are as expansive as the Owyhee Desert itself. Take a gander at the first round of Gathering programming! Tickets go on sale to members on August 10th, 9am PT and to the general public on September 10th, 9am PT. And, stay tuned for daytime shows, special sessions, films, and all the Gathering goodies heading your way soon!

Passing It On

One of the most important parts of the Gathering's programming is its workshops, where traditional cowboy arts like rawhide braiding and leather carving are passed on to new generations. We have a cadre of old and new workshop instructors this year, ready to teach you everything from cast iron cookery to horsehair raku. Learn more about the award-winning workshop instructors here.

Get to Know the Artists

You've seen the lineup, you've perused the ticketed shows, but how do you decide which artists you want to see? Luckily, we've already put together a 42nd Gathering Playlist on WFC TV. Find the poets who make you ponder, the musicians who make you move, and put together the perfect Gathering game plan.

Ask a Cowboy Poet

Sometimes writing a cowboy poem comes “like it was delivered via a magic carpet,” but other times the writing drags on and on for months or years. This month, the cowboy poets talk about the time it takes them to write poems as they answer this question posed by The Deadline Drifter, “What was the quickest poem you ever wrote? Which one took the longest, and how long did it take to finish?”
