Texas Annual Southeast District Charge Conference

with the District Superintendent, Cesar Martinez

Seabrook UMC was well represented at the Charge conference on October 25, 2026 with 18 attendees. The usual business items were presented and voted on including the 2027 Seabrook United Methodist Church Board of Stewards members, then we broke into groups to discuss how our United Methodist churches could build deeper connections in ministries, activities, and fellowship. We also discussed how we help people feel like they belong in the church, beyond our initial welcoming hospitality.

The 2027 SUMC Board of Stewards members are:

Chair: Tom Carrington (replacing Sue Runco), Vice-Chair: Connie McClain (replacing Tom Carrington), Lay Leader: Will Schmidt (replacing Mary Sullivan), Finance Rep: Jean Petersen, Finance Rep: Earl Ligon, SPR Rep: Steve Holliday, SPR Rep: Larry Bolton, Trustee: Eric Sevebeck (replacing Jim Hobstetter), Trustees: Barry Dubin, Ex Officio: Senior Pastor Chuck Weber.

Seabrook United Methodist Church is in good hands! The Board of Stewards can be attended by any congregational member.

"Oh gracious God, show us the path to heaven, to take the path of love and faith, opposed to the way of selfishness and fear."

Thank you to all of the Seabrook UMC for graciously giving to our Heritage Elementary White House Choir trip. All the children’s way is paid! We continue to seek donations to offset the one parent chaperone who will travel with each child. Blessing to you all.

Dear Lord, we often separate ourselves from those who seek our help and put ourselves higher. In truth, we all need you equally. Amen

Grateful for the World Communion Sunday that provided a scholarship for one of our members;

prayers for those dealing with physical and mental pain;

please pray for our students and teachers;

pray for our community outreach efforts to bring in youth and help us to keep them close to you;

thank you Lord, for our church;

pray for the USA, Israel and all the countries;

pray for all our brave people serving in the military and their families;

for our church family;

for Family Promise Volunteers and Families;

for the Gathering Place Crew;

for our LGBTQIA+ Siblings;

and for the United Methodist Church.

Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.
