A WORD WITH...
Ainyae (SJS 2015) —
A Senior at Howard University
Ainyae recently finished an exciting internship in New York City. A member of our first class of students, she is starting her senior year at Howard University.

How did you spend your summer?
I did an internship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. 

How cool! What did a typical day look like for you?
I had the opportunity to shadow a lot of different doctors and sit in on surgical procedures, such as ACL repairs and knee replacements. We also went to the New York Giants training camp and met the head surgeon for the team, the athletic trainers, and the players.  

What are you most looking forward to in your last year of college?
I’m definitely excited to spend this last year with my friends.

Have you started thinking about what you’ll do after graduation?
Yes! I am planning on taking a gap year and then going to medical school. My hope is to become a dermatologist. 

What is one thing you would like to say to St. James Graduate Support?
I feel extremely supported by your team and don’t know what I would do without you assisting me throughout my high school and college journey.
Climbing, Fishing, and Adventuring on the Chesapeake Bay
Our students made a memorable trip to NorthBay Adventure Camp in North East, MD and, for the first time in three years, stayed overnight in the cabins!
