"A light for revelation" has come,

the Lord's Christ

Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law, he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, 

"Lord, now you are letting your servant

depart in peace, according to your word;

for my eyes have seen your salvation

that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,

a light for revelation to the Gentiles,

and for glory to your people Israel."

– Luke 2:25-32

Cross invites you to join us in celebrating

that 'light for revelation', which God sent into

the world for our salvation, Christ the Lord!

As we reflect on the meaning of this Christmas season, we note that Jesus the Messiah is referred to as the "light for redemption" by Simeon in the temple (Luke 2:25-32). 

This was fulfilled through the life of Jesus the Christ.

"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace."

– Ephesians 1:7

And this is a direct fulfillment of what was foretold by the prophets.

"I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles." 

– Isaiah 42:6

We at Cross desire that each of you will see that "light" and experience His redemption during this season.
