Events

All Emory Crossing events held at the Amenity Center are for residents only unless otherwise stated. Registration links will be included in this year's community events. Please register so we can plan accordingly.

Request amenity access before the event. You will be required to fob in to access the pool for this event. Staff will not open the gate for anyone. Staff will not be available to process access requests on the day of the event. The pool monitor will not allow piggybacking.

To help ensure the Emory Crossing pool remains enjoyable and within its occupancy limits, this will be a residents-only HOA event, and guests will not be permitted. Our goal is to provide an enjoyable experience for all Emory Crossing residents. A pool monitor will be stationed at the entrance to check in residents upon arrival.

Our pool's maximum occupancy is 150 people.

Please note, a time change for this event has been made. It will now be from 5-7 pm.

Looking ahead

The Reading Ready Book Tour is coming back to Emory Crossing June 15-17th from 9 to 12pm!

Pool Safety & Courtesy

As we head into pool season today, please take a moment to review these important guidelines to help keep our pool area safe, clean, and open for everyone to enjoy.

🪑 Return Pool Furniture

  • Please return all furniture to their proper place after use.
  • Do not place furniture blocking walkways.
  • Do not place any furniture in the water. Only the white chaise are permitted.

Keeping the area organized ensures a welcoming space for the next guests and allows me to maintain the facility properly.

🌬️ Close Umbrellas When Not in Use

We experience high winds regularly. It only takes one unexpected gust to lift an open umbrella and send it flying. This can quickly become dangerous, causing serious injury or property damage.

All umbrellas are for in-pool use only.

Before leaving your spot, please take a moment to fully close and secure umbrellas.

🚫 Absolutely No Glass

Glass containers are strictly prohibited in the pool area. If the glass breaks, it can shatter across the deck and potentially end up in the pool.

If glass enters the pool:

  • The pool must be shut down immediately.
  • The pool must be drained to ensure all glass is removed.
  • This is a lengthy and extremely expensive process.

Simply put: No glass = no closures, no costly issues, and no interruption to pool enjoyment.

🚫 Absolutely No Alcohol

Places like Kalahari and Typhoon Texas allow alcohol because they have the proper permits, licenses, and lifeguards. HOAs do not have these requirements.

Water + alcohol = Risk/Danger. Don't bring this risk to the pool or amenity center.

🌬️ Entry at Front Gate Only

Use your fob to enter. Do not piggyback or allow others in who are not your personal guest. The side gates are for emergency use only. Alarms have been installed.

Thank you for doing your part to protect our shared amenity and keep it safe for all residents. Let’s work together to keep our pool clean, safe, and open all season long!

Pool monitors will be present. Like last year, they will be checking bags for alcohol and glass. Please do not bring either to the pool or amenity center in general.

Residents Initiative

Speeding

Recently, residents took the lead to combat speeding in our neighborhood with the city's assistance. The police have been in the neighborhood more than any time the Association Office has requested, which was the hope.

Per Google, the average traffic stop is about 15 minutes for speeding. The office has witnessed this timeframe to also be true. The furthest home from the entrance is 0.8 miles.

It takes 2 minutes to travel 1 mile going 30 mph.

It takes 1:43 minutes to travel 1 mile going 35 mph.

It takes 1:30 minutes to travel 1 mile going 40 mph.

You lose 13 minutes because you were in a hurry.

Average speeding ticket cost for Williamson County is over $300. If there is a school bus stopped un/loading children, you could face a greater penalty.

It will be 2 points against your license.

It can increase your vehicle insurance by an average of 13% for 3 years.

Pool Season

The pool is officially open as of 8am this morning! Please remember the 6‑guest limit. Pool hours are until 10:00 PM.

Pool Deck

The deck repairs were unable to be scheduled before opening due to vendor availability and weather delays. The Board chose not to delay opening the pool.

Please note there are areas with loose decking and cracks that may be uncomfortable on bare feet—use caution when walking.

The pool will be closed Tuesday, May 5 through Friday, May 8 for deck repairs. It may reopen late Friday, but is expected to reopen Saturday, May 9.

We are still seeking a vendor to repair the depth marker coping stones and hope to complete this work after pool season to avoid additional closures.

Pool Shades

The shades are still in the parking lot ready to be installed. The weather has caused delays. An updated scheduled will be sent out as soon as management is made aware. Unfortunately, this will cause the pool to be closed again. We will work to try for a early to mid-week schedule as not to disrupt the heavier traffic periods.

Tables & Umbrellas

Several tables were damaged last year due to umbrellas being left open or placed without bases. The tables are deteriorating and may be removed before the end of summer. Umbrella holes have been sealed and bases removed to extend their lifespan. Please do not move the tables.

Umbrellas will not be replaced. Please close them when leaving the pool, as no extras are available.

Wasp Season

Check under tables, benches, play equipment. They seem to be building lower to the ground this year.

Please report any active nests to the office. Wasps are treated throughout the week. However, most nests are very tiny, so it is possible some were missed.

Pest control is monthly. Please email or text pictures with a location.

Amenity Access

If you have never had access, got a new phone, or are having other issues with your current access, please submit a request HERE.

And the winner is......

Emtto with almost 43% of the votes!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to naming our beloved new resident.

Landscaping Tips & Tricks

We understand the wet weather has made mowing difficult. However, that has not been the issue with any yard. The issue is weeds. Do not just mow the weeds. Treat or pull them. Ridding your yard of weeds makes yard maintenance significantly easier and cheaper to manage.

Weeds in the Rocks & Yard - Spray a post emergent &/or pull these weeds and grasses out of the rocks.

Sow Thistle - Pull or treat this weed before it gets out of control. This is the most prolific weed in the neighborhood at this time. If you received a Mowing, Edging, Weeding notice - it applies to the weeds in your yard. (pic to the right)

Nutsedge Weed - Treat with SedgeHammer. Do not pull. It will spread.

Tree Pruning - All trees should be worked up to a 6-8' canopy base as the tree matures. If the tree is along a sidewalk, they need to be pruned up to 14'.

Fence Stain - Approved color is Wood Defender, Color: 200 Series, Semi-Transparent Sierra.

Dead Trees - Must be replaced with the same species, unless otherwise approved.

Trash/Recycling Bins - Store them out of view when it is not trash day. If you have an alley, you may store them on the driveway near the garage door.

Parking - Commercial vehicles are prohibited. Registration must be showing at all time. No car covers or expired registration is permitted. Do not park in fire lanes or the alleyways at any time.

Alleyways continue to be an issue. Do not drive against traffic.

This is a handy little tool for pulling weeds. It is only about $5-10 at our local hardware stores. Wet the lawn, gentle press tool vertically next to the weed, loosen the dirt, then you should be able to remove the weed - root and all - by tilting the tool towards the weed.

SedgeHammer is for nutsedge - a weed you should not pull. The nut stays in the ground and makes this weed spread. This is a selective herbicide, so it won't harm your healthy sod near by.
