Congratulations to Noah:
YVCHR Volunteer of the Month!
Noah began volunteering with YVCHR in July of 2018. As a seasoned YVC Youth Volunteer, he enthusiastically participates frequently in a variety of in-person and virtual projects. He demonstrates a strong work ethic and dedication to the mission of the organizations being served at each project. Noah's favorite volunteer opportunity is our current Fall Garden Club because he gets to have fun gardening while simultaneously helping feed those in need by growing healthy produce. Volunteering gives Noah the opportunity to serve others as well as meet new people.

Besides volunteering, Noah enjoys volleyball, theatre, and gardening. After he completes high school, he wants to attend college to study musical theatre or perhaps meteorology or biology.
Fun Facts: Noah is a black belt in Taekwondo, is currently learning French and loves to travel. In fact, he has been to three countries outside of the United States.

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards is a nationwide program that honors young people in grades 5-12 who volunteer in their communities. The program's goals are to applaud young people who already are making a positive difference in their towns and neighborhoods and to inspire others to think about how they might contribute to their communities. Youth who have engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred during the twelve months prior to the application date are eligible to apply.

Local Honorees are selected in late fall and from those winners, State Honorees are chosen in each state and the District of Columbia. State Honorees receive an award of $1,000 and an invitation to the program's national recognition events. Out of the State Honorees, National Honorees are selected to receive an additional award of $5,000, as well as a $5,000 grant for a nonprofit organization of their choice.
