A Message from the Bellaire High School Counseling Department

Course Selection! This week students will complete their meetings with their Counselors to complete course selection.

Students should have submitted their course selections in Schoolinks.

Click here for a link for the 2025-2026 Course Selection Sheet.

These worksheets are to help students plan the courses and levels for the next school year. GT students should choose at least two advanced courses (PAP, AP, IB, HADV.)

Current 9th grade worksheet: Click here

Current 10th grade worksheet: Click here.

HISD requires GT students to choose advanced leveled courses. If a student chooses to not select advanced levels, an opt-out form will be sent home to be signed by a parent or guardian for approval to opt-out of advanced leveled courses. This form must be returned to the student’s Counselor.

Parents can review the student course planner in SchooLinks. Click here for parent instructions on how to log into School Links. Click here for instructions on how to review the course plan your student selected. For any changes to be made to their course selections, students must visit their Counselor by March 7th. Students are not to make any changes in the course planner without notifying their Counselor.

Personal Graduation Plans must be completed by all students in SchooLinks and signed by parents. Students met with their Counselors to complete their Personal Graduation Plans and were also emailed instructions on how to transfer it to SchooLinks. Click here for instructions on how to view and approve the PGP within SchooLinks. A parent signature is required on all PGP’s.

If you or your child have any questions or concerns regarding the course planning process, the PGP, or the SchooLinks Course Planner itself, please do not hesitate to reach out to your counselor. We are here to assist and support you every step of the way.

REMINDER

Early Dismissal from School

All students must check out with Ms. Espadas in the Attendance Office located in the Main Office before leaving school during the school day. Parents must also come in to check their students out, and they must present a valid ID that matches information in PowerSchool/HISD Connect. The main office will then request the student from class.

3:00 PM is the cut-off time to pick a student up early for the day. Parents arriving after 3:00 PM cannot have their student called down to the attendance office. If a student needs to be picked up early, they must be picked up before 3:00 PM.

When absent, students should turn in an excuse note (doctor’s, parent, etc…) to Ms. Espadas for filing. As a reminder, a minimum attendance requirement of 90% in each class is required to award course credit.

By speaking up and working together, we can prevent issues before they escalate, ensuring that Bellaire High School remains a safe place for learning and growth. Remember, if you see something that doesn’t feel right, don’t hesitate—report it here. Together, we can make a difference!

It Takes A Village...

Please help us collect important information and bring student and staff accomplishments to our school community. Please share with us Bellaire HS activities and student achievements. You can upload your pictures or event notices. Together, we can accomplish a lot. You can submit information anytime on the homepage on the right side of the page or bookmark this link.
