Maryland Department of the Environment (MDOE) Secretary Serena McIlwain, the state’s first Black Environment secretary, and just the third woman to be confirmed by the state Senate for the position.

MDOE Secretary Serena McIlwain will present the Maryland Green Registry Sustainability Leadership Award winners as part of the One Montgomery Green Gala.
