The Port is excited to announce that we are actively in the selection process to rebuild our public fishing pier, which has been a long-standing asset on our waterfront since the late 1960s.

The project includes demolishing the existing wooden pier and constructing a new, modern concrete fishing pier with sleek cable railings that will enhance the vantage point for the public to fish and enjoy the waterfront. New signage of our local fish species and a “peek-a-boo” grate on the pier floor for visitors to see the water below their feet are also planned. The pier will be ADA-compliant, providing much-needed access to the water for both fishing and viewing platforms for everyone in the community to enjoy.

The project construction is slated for this summer as a requirement of the environmental work window, which only allows water-related construction to occur during the least impactful season for both flora and fauna. While the public may not be able to fish from the pier this summer, we are excited to bring a newly rebuilt and improved attraction for the public’s enjoyment later this year.
