Good morning Saint Mark. We hope you had a restful Memorial Day weekend!

This Sunday is Ascension Sunday. If you don't know what that means, allow us to explain.

Ascension Sunday represents the day that Jesus ascended to heaven and took his rightful throne as Lord of the whole earth.

This Sunday is also when we continue our Fruit of the Spirit series. This week we will examine what it means to be kind.

The Saint Mark Saints of Oakland Cemetery Tour

Bill Sanders is leading the premier presentation of Oakland Cemetery’s newest tour: Saint Mark Saints of Oakland. This one-mile walking tour is at a leisurely stroll pace. In addition to visiting the graves of 18 Oakland “residents” who were Saint Mark and/or Merritts’ Avenue Church members, we will also visit and discuss other Oakland 'residents', including author Margaret Mitchell, golfer Bobby Jones, historian Franklin Garrett, singer Kenny Rogers, first Mayor Moses Forwalt, Mayor Maynard Jackson, and more.

This tour is free of charge and limited to the first 15 who reserve a spot. To reserve your spot, contact Bill at wlsanders@hotmail.com.

Vacation Bible School

VBS meets for one action-packed week each summer. With a new and exciting theme each year, we explore the Bible and how it supports and guides kids in their everyday faith. With middle and high school youth and many adults volunteering to help make it happen, it’s also a great time to build relationships across generations and feel the power of a loving faith community. If you, your child, or your youth is interested in being a part of Vacation Bible School, you can find more information here.

Piedmont Park Clean Up Day

Saint Mark will be serving our community in more ways than one on June 7th. In addition to our Habitat Build, a different group of us will be cleaning up Piedmont Park together as a church.
