Music To Life was founded in 2018 by Noel Paul Stookey (of the 60's folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary), and his daughter Liz, and empowers artists as social change makers.

Curated by Andy Smith (Australia) and Sam George (Spain), the Tantalis Music Awards, believe that exceptional music deserves to be recognized for what it is, not by how many people follow the artist who created it.

Through human-led evaluation, anonymous assessment and transparent judging criteria, Tantalis puts artistic merit at the centre of the competition. Originality, craftsmanship, creative vision and emotional impact matter more than an artist’s profile or commercial reach.

But the Tantalis mission does not stop at awards. Through Tantalis Discovery and The Tantalis Discovery Inlay, Andy and Sam are creating opportunities to discover independent artists, showcase their music and explore the stories behind the people who make it.

This past Saturday, The Music Salon returned for a wonderful evening of community through music and art. Amy Malkoff shared her jewelry as the featured visual artist. Saratoga Springs blues duo Mark & Jill and Ashville social impact songwriter Shane Meade joined me in the round with a special cameo appearance by amazing 17 year old Lundonnn.

I was delighted two of my high school classmates were there!

But to celebrate the holiday season, The Music Salon is hosting a HOLIDAY PARTY with MUSIC AND A POTLUCK DINNER on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12 AT 7 PM. Bring your musical instruments and favorite songs to play and sing.

NERFA is coming up the weekend of November 12 - 15 in Albany. I'll be hosting Songs At The Heart Of Our Times on Thursday night, and performing on Friday and Saturday nights.

And Sunday morning I will be heading back home to attend the New England Music Awards in Foxboro, where I am nominated for Best Roots Act of 2026.
