As followers of Christ, we Seek others in our community, Serve their needs, Grow in the love of Christ, and Connect with each other

Pastor's Points

When Jesus walked on the earth, he gathered folks together and invited them to walk the road with and learn from Him. When the Disciples went out to love and serve the world. the gathered together folks around them and taught them what Jesus has shown them. When the Church lives out Her mission, we serve together as the Body of Jesus Christ, loving, sharing, proclaiming, and shaping the world. This is a Holy privilege that none of us should take lightly.

Sunday we kick off a two part series based on our Mission Statement, something we say together every Sunday and which can be found on all of our communications. That Mission Statement not only reminds us of who we are, but also that we are not alone. That we are on this journey together, supporting each other, and proclaiming God's love to the world.

Before Jesus left the earth He Commissioned the disciples to go out into the world and teach everyone about God's love. When He was at the table on the night He was betrayed, He prayed for the disciples, that, as they went out to share the Good News, that they would be protected and that they would be one.

That same commissioning and prayer is for us as well, and as we reflect upon who we are as a church over the next two weeks, we are blessed to be able to share the journey together and witness God's love to all..

Hope to see you Sunday, as we worship.

Blessings,

Pastor Tim

UWF Green Team Tip of the Week, “Faith in Action”

We just finished Halloween, and Thanksgiving is coming up next. However, Christmas is also coming, and people will be planning Christmas decorations soon.

We all have special ornaments and decorations that are meaningful to us, but we also purchase new things each year. Consider using natural greenery, poinsettias, holly, etc., for decorations. They may not last until next year, but farmers and vendors at farmers’ markets will appreciate the sales when much of their produce isn't available. Also, there is no harm to the environment from their growth, and they are easily recycled. Every time you use some of Nature’s decorations, you save our environment from at least some pollution from the manufacturing and disposal of manufactured products. Even a small change, if done by many, can help.
