Thinking of building or transforming an ADU on your property?

The Plus One ADU Program can help! Get up to $112,500 to build or renovate a code-compliant accessory dwelling unit (ADU).

Our client whose home is pictured here came to us at a fork in the road: Find a way to complete the renovation of her 130-year-old farmhouse into a two-family home, or consider putting the property on the market.

"As a single homeowner, the supplemental rental income would provide stability and help sustain the upkeep of my historic home. For the community, the project would add to the limited supply of affordable housing in the area, where demand is high and options are few."

We're proud to say we've achieved both goals. Thank you to this client (and all of our clients) for trusting us to create housing opportunities that benefit everyone involved – the homeowner, the future tenants, and the community as a whole.

Applications are open in Columbia, Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties. Don’t miss this chance—apply today!

Stop Lead at the Door with the Leading in Lead Prevention Program

RUPCO is proud to administer the Leading in Lead Prevention Program in Kingston, Middletown and Newburgh.

Through this initiative, eligible property owners can receive up to $40,000 per unit in grant funding to remove lead hazards from multi-family rental properties built before 1980.

The Vacant Rental Improvement Program (VRP) is still accepting applications!

VRP, a state-funded initiative, is helping turn rental vacancies into safe, affordable homes.

RUPCO is administering VRP across nine Hudson Valley counties to revitalize 80 vacant units—supporting small landlords, strengthening communities, and expanding access to affordable housing for low- and moderate-income renters.

New Homeownership Opportunities in Sullivan County

Four newly constructed homes are on the market in Sullivan County, marking a major step forward in addressing the area’s housing shortage and creating new opportunities for local families to become homeowners.

The Sullivan County Land Bank, administered by our subsidiary Rural Sullivan Housing, developed these homes on lots that have been vacant for years. Two homes are in Liberty (45 Pinehurst Drive W & 43 Pinehurst Drive E), and two are in Monticello (23 Spring Street & 165 Park Avenue). All four are priced affordably at $275,000 for local residents, with priority given to buyers who live or work in Sullivan County.

Standing ovation for Storyhorse Documentary Theater!

Back in June, Storyhorse Documentary Theater visited Silver Gardens, our senior housing community in Highland, to perform for our residents!

Storyhorse Theater was founded in 2018 by husband-and-wife duo Mary Stuart Masterson and Jeremy Davidson. This power couple made names for themselves in the entertainment industry before putting down roots in the Hudson Valley. Intended to inspire community bonding, Storyhorse Theater interviews real Hudson Valley residents, gathers their stories, and transforms them into powerful stage readings.

Thank you to Storyhorse Theater for the amazing performance!

Congratulations to the Pine Hill Wellington crew on a successful Vintage Base Ball fundraiser!

Over $450 was raised earlier this month when the Fleischmanns Mountain Athletic Club (M.A.C.) hosted the Rip Van Winkle Base Ball Club for a vintage base ball match to benefit the restoration of The Wellington – a historic 1880’s hotel in the hamlet of Pine Hill that's being transformed into ten affordable apartments with a first-floor commercial space.

In an interview about the collaboration, Collin Miller of the M.A.C. said "It’s highly likely that some of our original players or opponents, or perhaps even the Fleischmann family themselves stayed at the Wellington during the era of the grand hotels at the turn of the last century. So, the chance to help the cause fits perfectly with the mission of our 1895 ball Club promote local history and a sense of place…It was a no-brainer."

"Dear person behind me..."

Property Manager Sue and Landmark Place resident Maire showed up to their June tenant meeting twinning!

The message on the back of their shirts rings true each and every day: YOU ARE ENOUGH! The world is a better place with you in it.

Thank you, Sue and Maire, for this always-welcome reminder!
