Are you interested in serving on the FAA Legislative Committee or the APAC Board of Directors?
Do you have a passion for the apartment industry and are you looking to become more involved in FAA's advocacy efforts?

The Florida Apartment Association (FAA) is preparing for a very busy 2021 Legislative Session and the association needs your help. FAA is in the process of recruiting volunteers who are interested in serving on the Legislative Committee or the Apartment Political Action Committee (APAC) Board of Directors.

Please note: Volunteering to serve does not guarantee a spot on the Legislative Committee or the APAC Board of Directors. The volunteer slots are ultimately appointed by the FAA President.
What are the Legislative Committee and the APAC Board Directors responsible for?

FAA's Legislative Committee is responsible for overseeing and reviewing legislative, regulatory, and legal issues impacting the multifamily rental industry in the state and making recommendations for needed action. The committee also works closely with the FAA governmental affairs team.

The APAC Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing FAA's political fundraising efforts and campaign spending. APAC is committed to preserving and advancing the apartment industry's interests through political advocacy at the state and local government levels. Since 1971, APAC has helped to elect pro-multifamily industry candidates from across Florida for state and local elected office.

The FAA Legislative Committee and the APAC Board of Directors meet during the FAA's regularly scheduled in-person governance meetings, which occur three times a year in the winter, spring, and fall. Participation on these bodies requires travel to attend in-person meetings. Additional meetings may be conducted via Zoom as deemed necessary by both bodies.

How can I volunteer to serve in 2021?

Email Amanda Gill (amanda@faahq.org), FAA's government affairs director, regarding any questions you may have or to express your interest in volunteering by Monday, December 7.
