Dear LTHS Parents/Guardians and Students,

I hope this email finds you enjoying the weekend.  The weather has certainly started to turn and fall is in the air!

I had the pleasure of spending the last couple of weeks on the sidelines with our Flag Football team as they made a phenomenal playoff run that ended with the first state finals appearance in program history and the first state trophy in program history. Congratulations to head coach Meghan Hutchens and our team on placing 3rd at the IHSA State Finals and bringing home LT Athletics first trophy of the 2026-27 school year!

I had the chance to talk to the team after they qualified for state and shared with them just how impressed I was with the joy they played with each and every game. During my time as principal, I have had an opportunity to watch a lot of talented, state-qualifying LT teams, but this team’s pure joy is something that truly stood out to me during this magical playoff run. It was so special watching our four captains accept the trophy and our team celebrate this amazing accomplishment.

Here are some additional notes of congratulations:

Winter Sports Registration

Winter sports registration is now open on our Athletics Webpage. All students wishing to participate in athletics must have a current physical on file and complete the athletic online registration on the team’s page. The Athletic Department requires each participant to complete the online registration for each sport season. This ensures the safety of the athlete, and also updates the athletic eligibility files. Questions regarding tryouts should be directed to head coaches; general questions about LTHS Athletics should be directed to John Grundke, Athletic Director.

Halloween Costume/Dress Up

With Halloween approaching, I wanted to take the opportunity to share this with parents/guardians and students.
