Warmest Holiday Wishes

from all of us at the Foundation

As the year winds down, we’ve been thinking a lot about the moments that made this season bright, and so many of them point back to you. Your generosity has shown up in classrooms, neighborhoods, nonprofits, and countless ways that make Henry County a beautiful place.

Thank you for caring so deeply about this community!

We wish you a joyful holiday season filled with rest, laughter, and the people who make your days a little lighter. Here’s to more good work and more good stories of impact in the year ahead.

Happy Holidays from the Henry County Community Foundation

Foundation News

Join us in congratulating Aubrey Lapp,

The 2026 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Recipient!

Aubrey has been deeply involved in academics, athletics, and service, from leading student organizations and competing on the swim and golf teams to volunteering throughout the community. Aubrey has also pursued hands-on learning through internships in healthcare administration and physics research, which have fueled her passion for STEM.

She plans to study engineering at an Indiana college, with the goal of continuing her education in graduate school and using science to make a meaningful impact in her community and beyond.

Please note our adjusted office hours over the holidays.

As you think about your year-end giving, this season brings more than the usual reflections. It also brings new opportunities.

With the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” (OBBBA) signed into law this summer, the tax landscape has shifted in ways that could influence how you give now and how you plan for the future.

We help unpack all of that and provide some year-end information
on our website.

When Henry County faces a challenge, our community steps up.

As food costs rise, local food pantries and helpers are already preparing to care for our neighbors.

To support their efforts, the Henry County Community Foundation has opened the Feeding Henry County Fund. Financial contributions allow these organizations to purchase exactly what is needed, when it is needed, ensuring appropriate and timely aid.

New Castle Schools continues to grow its Tiny Trojans Pre-K program—now serving full 4-year-old classrooms in all five elementary schools, plus a new 3-year-old class. All classrooms have reached Level 3 Paths to Quality certification.

With state funding for early childhood programs shrinking, many families face new barriers.

To keep Pre-K accessible, the schools partnered with HCCF to create the Tiny Trojans Pre-K Pass-Through Fund that provides scholarships and supports classroom needs.

Building Trails, Building Futures: Sylvie’s Internship Experience

Sylvie Terrell spent her summer doing more than clearing trails. She was helping strengthen Henry County.

Through the Foundation’s Nonprofit Internship Grant Program, funded by the Choose Henry Flex Fund, Sylvie worked with Healthy Communities of Henry County to maintain trails, remove invasive species, and support a healthier community.

Experiences like hers are possible because donors like you choose to invest in local nonprofits and future leaders. As the year comes to a close, your generosity helps ensure that opportunities to learn, serve, and grow continue well into the future.
