Outdoor Service and Picnic

On Sunday, June 1, we will celebrate a wonderful outdoor service (weather permitting) at 9:30 am followed by a great afternoon of food and fellowship. The church will provide hotdogs, hamburgers, and veggie burgers. To sign up to contribute to the meal and RSVP, click here or go to StPaulsLionville.org/events. If your family likes to play outdoor games, bring your favorite one along. This is always such a delightful event that it would be a great opportunity to invite a friend, neighbor or family member to worship that day!

Please note that for those who regularly watch our livestream, due to the complications of offering the livestream outdoors, only the pre-recorded sermon will be offered that morning.

St. Paul's Leadership Retreat

We like to offer a time for the leaders and members of St. Paul's to gather to talk and learn together. This year the event will be held on Sunday, June 29 after the 9:30 am service and will include lunch. The event will include time to talk about leadership, free discussion hosted by the Mutual Ministry team to share anything on your mind and also some building priorities in the coming years. Lunch will follow and then the Church Council will have their monthly meeting. Please sign up here for food planning! All are welcome, no matter your role or how long you've been at St. Paul's!!

Youth Protection Policy Training

Youth Protection Policy Training for adults who work with youth and children in our congregation will be offered on multiple occasions in the coming weeks. If you have not received training in our Youth Protection Policy within the past five years and plan to help with ASP, Vacation Bible School, or any other upcoming events that involve children and youth, please plan to attend one of these trainings:

  • Sunday, June 1 from 10:45 to 11:45 am at St. Matthew's
  • Thursday, June 5 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm online/Zoom
  • Sunday, June 22 from 10:45 to 11:45 am at St. Paul's

You only need to attend one of these sessions, as they are all the same presentation. Sign up here to participate: Youth Protection Policy Training.

Youth Fundraiser at Handel's Ice Cream

St. Matthew's & St. Paul's Youth Group will receive 20% of purchases at Handel's Ice Cream in Downingtown on Tuesday, June 10 from 3:00 - 9:00 pm. Look for fliers in the narthex or on our Facebook and Instagram pages and show it when ordering to help support our youth.

Peanut Butter & Jelly Food Drive

Each year around this time we support the Chester County Food bank as they prepare summer student food boxes. These boxes help school-age children and their families receive nutritious, easy to prepare, non-perishable food during the summer vacation months. The boxes are designed to be kid friendly, containing items that children should be able to prepare with little to no adult supervision like PB&J. They are also put in the Senior Food boxes. Please add PB&J (plastic jars only, please) to your grocery run and bring them to church through Sunday, June 15. Thank you for your donations.

Younger Families "Family Faith Friends" Gathering

Younger families, come to our "Family Faith Friends" end-of-school-year gathering on Sunday, June 8 from noon to 3:00 pm at Warwick County Park! Families with kids in preschool through fifth grade are invited to join us for a barbecue and relaxed afternoon of food and fun at one of the park's pavilions. (Older and younger siblings are welcome, too.) Get to know other families at St. Paul's and St. Matthew's as we mark the completion of another school year and the start of summer! Families are asked to bring a side dish, snack, or dessert to share with the group; burgers, hot dogs, and beverages will be provided. RSVP here to be part of the fun: June 8th Family Faith Friends Gathering. For questions, contact Craig Miller at craigyouthmin@gmail.com.

Summer Family Fun Night

It's time to celebrate another Family Fun Night on Friday, July 11 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. These are always great events to celebrate with the congregation and the community, with free fun, food and games for all ages. We have a number of summer themed activities including outdoor games and a firepit with smores! We’ll also have crafts, hot dogs, games, face painting, ice cream, popcorn, music and we hope to have a car show and the Lionville Fire truck! The events only happen by the generosity of St. Paul's and you can offer some supplies or help on this signup! Signup to attend at this link and be sure to share this Facebook event on your page!

Rare Birds (ages 50+) June Lunch

Let’s gather for an old school covered dish lunch on Tuesday, June 10 at noon. We will meet in the Social Room. Please click here to RSVP, sign up for a dish and to vote for the group's name. I’ve had several people ask about retaining our name. Because of this, you will see Rare Birds back in the mix. Hope you can all join us!

Information for Altar Care Volunteers

As we transition into the single 9:30 am service for the summer season, we have a reminder for our altar care volunteers. Please note that with the single service, the altar care volunteer is responsible for set up, clean up, and providing bread for the service. If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you for your help!

Brickside Dining for Living Love Lunches

We are partnering with Brickside Grille (in Eagleview) to raise funds for Living Love Lunches. Once a month, Brickside will return 15% of your purchase to St. Paul’s for Living Love Lunch supplies. This now applies to any purchases throughout the day, including brunch, using the buffet, or ordering dinner. Our designated Sunday is the first one of the month. Our next date will be Sunday, June 1. When you present our flyer or email, Brickside will return 15% of your purchase to St. Paul’s for Living Love Lunch supplies. Please remember that you must bring a paper flyer (available in the narthex) or show it on your phone in order for a donation to be made.

Thrift Store News

Our May thrift store and garage sale was another huge success, raising over $2400. Thank you to everyone who continues to help whether it's donating goods, pricing and organizing items, working the sale, or shopping. We couldn't do it without you! We are taking a break for the summer, but we will be back and are still accepting donations, which may be placed in the airlocks to the church. Home decor items are especially appreciated.

Coffee Fellowship Help

Sharing a cup of coffee and some snacks while socializing after service is a wonderful St. Paul's tradition. We have very few volunteers for the next few months. Please help us keep the coffee and fellowship flowing by signing up online or in the narthex to make coffee and provide some goodies.
