VBS, Pilgrimage to Ecuador/Galapagos, my garden bounty, Maine

Dear Families,

All Saints' filled over 90 backpacks with supplies for Refugee Ministries' families within two weeks!! This Sunday, we will bless these bags along with our own bags to mark the start of a new year.

Why is it so important to do this seemingly small act each year?

Children, and I would say all of us, need signs and symbols to help us pause and remember. Remember who we are and whose we are as we venture out of the church doors. Remember that EVERYTHING and EVERYONE is sacred and loved by God. Remember that we gather together as a family to learn, receive, get blessed so that we can go out and share, give, and bless others.

It really is a symbol of what we are called to do as Christians and to remember that God gives us all we need to do it.

Fill 90 backpacks for refugee families? We got this!

Pause to bless our children and ourselves to go out and be the hands and feet of Christ? We got this!

So when you tie that Backpack Tag on your bag, or when you notice it at school, your office, lying on the floor at home - let this outward and visible sign remind you of an inward and invisible grace in you, to share God's love with everyone you meet.

Backpack Blessing and

Popsicles on the Playground

August 2nd, 10:00 service

I can't believe school is almost back in session for some of us! With that in mind, we will have our backpack blessed and get our backpack tags in church, and celebrate with popsicles on the playground after the service.

Everyone is invited to come up for a blessing with their backpacks, computer bags, diaper bags, or whatever you take to your school/job each day. It is the perfect start of a new year to remember that we are blessed to be a blessing to all we meet.

We will meet under the arcade at 9:50 to process in. Can't wait to see you all!

Club 45 Pool Party

Sunday, August 9th

12:30-2:30pm, the Allan's House

We will kick off the year for Club 45 with a pool party at one of our parishioner's house in Buckhead. This is a great way for kids to get back together and new kids to get to know others - parents too! Grab some lunch after church and then head on over with water bottle, towel, and change of clothes if you want. We will have snacks and drinks too.

Moving Up Celebration for Kindergartners

Sunday, August 23, 9:00am Children's Church

2nd fl Pritchett Bldg

Children's Church will resume with Holy Eucharist and our Moving Up Celebration of our Kindergartners. We will bless the Kindergartners as they move up from the Little Saints nursery into our Children's Ministries with a Blessing Bowl and a prayer. All parents are welcome anytime to Children's Church, but parents of Kindergartners will stand with your child as they receive their bowl and blessing. Let me know if your Kindergartner will be there.

Backpack Blessing and Popsicles on the Playground Aug 2nd

Bring your backpacks and gather under the Arcade at 9:45 to process in for a blessing for the new school/program/work year. All are welcome!

Club 45 Pool Party Aug 9th

All 4th and 5th graders are invited to our kick-off pool party at the Allan's house (an email with directions is coming your way). Grab some lunch after church and then head on over for fun and fellowship. Snacks and drinks provided, but bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.

Back to the Block Aug 16th

After 10am service in the Courtyard. Wear a bathing suit under clothes for the water slide.

All parents are invited to see what we do in Children's Church, but especially parents of Kindergartners as we honor your child with a Blessing Bowl and prayer as they join our Children's Ministries with the "big kids"!

Pilgrimage Forum Aug 23th

Come hear about our wonderful trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos.

Listen as they share about the community they built at Buen Pastor, serving alongside families, visiting and cooking in their homes, partnering with their Mountain Ministry, and witnessing God's creative beauty in the Galápagos Islands.
