The Town of Windsor’s Public Art Advisory Commission is launching a new
storm drain painting program called “Outreach Through Art, Storm Drain Painting Project”.
The program's goal is to spread the message about keeping our creeks clean while adding art to our community for the public to enjoy.
| |
|
We are seeking artists of all ages and abilities to submit artwork for sidewalk storm drains, portraying the theme “Keep trash pollutants, and debris out of the storm drain to keep our creeks clean and ensure the health of plants, wildlife, fish, and birds”.

To participate in this grant-funded program, panels must be generated by a resident of Sonoma County.

The Town of Windsor is happy to announce FREE Christmas tree mulch!
This year, the Town partnered with Sonoma County Resource Recovery and Hagstrom & Sons to reduce our carbon footprint while providing a valuable resource to the Windsor community to provide mulch typically trucked out of the County.
This new approach took 14 trucks off the road going from Windsor to Healdsburg, then to Ukiah, saving about 500 pounds of carbon emissions!
To collect your free mulch, visit 8400 Windsor Rd. There is public parking in front of the gate while supplies last. Please bring your containers, shovel, and gloves.

MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN
|
Planning Process Public Survey ENGLISH and SPANISH
Sonoma County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan – 2026 Update
The Town of Windsor (Town) is partnering with the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management on the update of the 2021 Multi-Jurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan for the County and 23 of its municipalities and special districts. The mitigation projects that are identified in the plan will reduce vulnerability and increase community resiliency to disasters.
The plan will focus on the safety of existing and future buildings, infrastructure, critical facilities, and how the community could be impacted by a natural disaster. A risk assessment will be conducted to identify hazards that may impact the Town including Sonoma County, and its municipalities and special districts, profile the relevant hazards and their potential consequences, identify assets subject to losses or damage, and estimate the potential losses resulting from each type of hazard.
The County and the Town are asking members of the public to contribute to the planning process by taking a survey. This survey is designed to gather information from around Sonoma County to help us better coordinate activities and reduce the risk of injury or property damage. These questions are for information-gathering only and responses will be shared with municipal, state, federal, and county entities for planning purposes only.
To access the survey and to find out more about the planning process, please visit the Sonoma Department of Emergency Hazard Mitigation webpage or follow the links listed below:

SONOMA COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT

The first month of 2025 has been active and meaningful so far for your Windsor Firefighters.
SCFD Strike Teams were deployed to Southern California, where they provided critical assistance in battling the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire. We’re honored to support the LA area communities during these challenging incidents, and we are so proud of our crews down south and we can’t wait for them to come home safe.
Closer to home, our four new Volunteer Firefighters successfully completed their Volunteer Academy. Congratulations to this dedicated group, whose commitment strengthens our mission to protect and serve. Welcome to the SCFD team, Brent Hughes, Deja Jones, “Tony” Cardullo, and Edward Witts.
