Dear Members:
Senators. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Jack Reed (D-R.I.), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Bob Casey, Jr. (D-Pa.), Steve Daines (R-Mont.) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) introduced the Coronavirus Economic Relief for Transportation Services (CERTS) Tax Exemption Act in the Senate (S.1944). S.1944 is companion legislation to the House bill (H.R. 3510) re-introduced in May.
This legislation would eliminate the tax burden associated with the $2 billion CERTS grant monies provided to the motorcoaches, school buses and passenger vessels industries.
We need you to contact your Senators and ask them to support S. 1944! While the bill has great bi-partisan support, we need more co-sponsors to demonstrate this issue still matters and capture the attention of Congressional Leaders.
Ask your Senator to have their staff reach out to their respective contacts in the Blackburn and Reed offices:
With very little time left before we enter the lame duck session of Congress and a Presidential election year, the time is NOW!
