SR-91 Culvert Replacement Project Corona

Two Consecutive 55-Hour Lane Closures

November, 2026

Corona – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) alerts the public that crews are continuing culvert operations on State Route 91 (SR 91) in Corona. Work activities will occur just west of Green River Road. This is part of a $6M project to replace 82’ long segments of existing culverts and improve wildlife crossing linkage.

Construction signs have been placed in the project zone. Work operations began near Corona along Green River Rd. with an expected start date in November 2025. Project work is expected to be completed by Fall 2027.

Two consecutive 55-hour lane closures of eastbound (EB) SR-91 lanes between SR-241 and Green River Road are scheduled:

  • Friday, November 6 at 10:00 p.m. through Monday, November 9 at 5:00 a.m.
  • Friday, November 13 at 10:00 p.m. through Monday, November 16 at 5:00 a.m.

Three lanes will remain open on SR-91 for traffic through access.

Full ramp and connector closures are required at the following locations:

  • NB SR-241 to EB SR-91 connector FULL closure
  • EB Gypsum Canyon Road on ramp(s)
  • EB Green River Road off ramp

Temporary traffic holds or alternating lane closures may occur as needed to support the removal and installation of channelizers.

Alternate routes are available to avoid delays on WB SR-91, SR-57, SR-60, SR-71 and I-15! Please follow indicated detour signage. The closures will allow crews to safely demolish and excavate the existing culvert and install a replacement along the main line. Please reduce your speed when near work areas for the safety of crews and other drivers on the route. Construction area signage will be placed ahead to indicate approaching roadway work. Closures are dependent on contractor receiving proper materials for each job function. They can be changed or canceled at any time. Weather permitting.

Drivers, please adhere to posted speed limits and signage informing of closures and roadwork ahead.

Please note that various work equipment and vehicles will be transporting material in and out of the project zone. Please reduce your speed when near work areas for the safety of crews and other drivers on the route. Signage will be placed ahead to indicate approaching roadway work.

All work is dependent on contractor receiving proper materials for each job function. It can be changed or canceled at any time. All work is weather permitting.

Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid potential delays.
