India Mahal's Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting a ribbon cutting for India Mahal Restaurant. There was a huge turnout and we are thrilled to have this incredible new restaurant in our community.

MILITARY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE (MAC)

MAC Meeting: 1/21 Tuesday 12:00 pm

The January Havelock MAC meeting will be held this Tuesday, January 21st, at 12:00 pm at Mucho Bueno. Please feel free to join us and learn about the MAC!

January 2025 Service Person of the Quarter

The Havelock MAC is proud to announce that they will be honoring Corporal Elizabeth Marino as the January 2025 Service Person of the Quarter on Monday, January 27th at Hancock Lodge aboard MCAS Cherry Point.

Corporal Marino has demonstrated exceptional dedication to both her service and the community. She enlisted in the Marine Corps in December 2021 and attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depo Parris Island, SC. Upon completing Recruit Training and Marine Combat Training, Private First Class Marino transferred to the Naval School of Music in Virginia Beach, VA. In October 2022, Lance Corporal Marino graduated from the Basic Musician’s Course and received orders to the 2d Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW)Band in Cherry Point, NC.

While at the 2d MAW Band, she served as the Vocalist, Fireteam Leader, MAC Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC), American Forces Public Information Management System NCOIC, and Production Clerk. Most notable was her involvement in the 2d MAW Band Holiday Concerts, Bridgeport Columbus Day Celebration, and community performances in Lyon France. In December 2023, Corporal Marino was meritoriously promoted to her present rank. In April 2024, she was awarded a Meritorious Mast for her work while deployed in support of Nordic Response 2024 in Norway, and in December 2024, she was awarded the Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron — 2 Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter.

Corporal Marino holds an associate in arts degree from Valencia College and is actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University. In addition to her Marine Corps duties and school, Corporal Marino enjoys volunteering in the local community; she enjoys reading, rock climbing, and photography.

Recently, Corporal Marino has given back to the community by volunteering 30 hours to fill in potholes at local businesses parking lots. She has also used her skills as a photographer to take photos at community Trunk or Treat events, community concerts, 5k running events, and local community sports games.
