Week 3 Topic: Office Hours and AATC Tutoring

Happy Week 3!

This week, we will be focusing on academic success! Specifically, how to make the most of your professor's Office Hours and the Academic Assistance and Tutoring Center (AATC) to support your learning at UC Davis.

Office Hours are one of the best ways to get personalized support in your classes. Professors and TAs hold these sessions to answer questions, clarify lecture material, and offer guidance on assignments or exam preparation. You don’t need to wait until you’re struggling, attending early helps you stay confident with course content and shows initiative. Find your professor's office hours in their class syllabus!

The Academic Assistance and Tutoring Centers or the AATC, provide free academic support to help you thrive. From tutoring in math, chemistry, and statistics to writing assistance and study skill workshops, AATC offers resources for every type of learner. You can schedule one-on-one appointments, join study groups, or drop in for quick help between classes. It’s a welcoming space designed to help you build strong study habits and feel supported every step of the way.

📍 Visit the AATC website this week!

CAN Counseling

The Community Advising Network (CAN) at UC Davis is a team of professional counselors who provide free, culturally responsive support to students. CAN counselors partner with identity-based centers and campus communities to make counseling more approachable, and they offer informal drop-in consultations, short-term therapy, and workshops on topics like stress management, relationships, cultural adjustment, and time management. Meeting with a CAN counselor is a great way to talk through challenges in a comfortable setting and get connected to additional campus resources.
