| | SafeCity Connect Camera Network | |
SafeCity Connect is a community camera network that links participating businesses and property owners into a public-private program. Cameras stay on your property and under your control, while aiding in investigations and keeping streets and sidewalks safe for everyone — cutting response and investigation times dramatically.
Participating merchants get professionally managed cameras, ongoing maintenance and support, and the collective benefit of a connected corridor where criminal activity is harder to hide. Already deployed across 100+ city blocks of San Francisco and Oakland, SafeCity Connect turns individual storefronts into a safer, more resilient neighborhood - together.

We were pleased to welcome San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan, who shared her perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing San Francisco and discussed her campaign for Congress. Supervisor Chan, who has served on the Board of Supervisors since 2021, emphasized the importance of revitalizing commercial corridors and creating neighborhoods where businesses, residents, and visitors can thrive.
The discussion focused on public safety, small-business support, and the revitalization of SOMA and Mid-Market. Supervisor Chan called for greater federal investment and stronger partnerships with federal law enforcement to address drug trafficking and organized crime, while emphasizing a comprehensive approach that includes housing, healthcare, economic development, and support for small businesses.
Supervisor Chan distinguished between federal law enforcement and military intervention. She stated that she would not support deploying the National Guard or military personnel into San Francisco, but believes federal law-enforcement agencies, including the FBI and DEA, should play a stronger role in addressing drug trafficking and organized criminal activity.
She also expressed support for mixed-income communities and a diverse mix of businesses and services throughout San Francisco.

Sora Labs -
AI Solutions & Consultation
| | |
We were excited to welcome Sora Labs, our newest SOMBA member, and founder Nikki Ahmadi, Ph.D., who gave an insightful presentation on how businesses can use AI to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency. Sora Labs develops customized AI agents for applications ranging from marketing and research to business development, billing, and project management, helping businesses and nonprofits save time and focus on higher-value work.
Sora Labs sees significant potential for nonprofits and small businesses, where limited staff resources can make administrative work particularly burdensome. Depending on the project, the company can move from an initial consultation to a proof-of-concept prototype in approximately two weeks, with the goal of using AI not to replace people, but to eliminate repetitive work and allow employees to focus on higher-value responsibilities.
