Dear FCE Community,
As we move into Spring, nature reminds us of the renewal and possibilities that come each year. Even though there is much uncertainty in the days ahead, we maintain our spirit of hope and our values. I want to reaffirm our commitment to empowering families and advancing higher education access for all students. I can assure you that our mission remains steadfast, and we are honored and grateful to have your support in driving meaningful change.

March to Success 2025
We were thrilled to welcome a sold-out crowd this year and to celebrate the incredible support of our community. We honored community members who have been volunteering and supporting FCE for more than 25 of our 30 years! We were also proud to recognize Cooley LLP as our 2025 Community Partner Award recipient. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special occasion and helped raise funds that will drive our continued impact!

Cultural Capital
We are always looking for opportunities for our students to build social and cultural capital. Through our Cultural Capital Program, students visited the Domini Hoskins Black History Museum in February to commemorate Black History Month. In March, students attended the Teen Night at the San Francisco Symphony, where they were mesmerized by Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser, a conductor who looked like them!

Professional Mentorship Program
FCE matches college students with professional mentors who have worked within the same fields our students are pursuing. During spring break, students had a chance to finally meet with their mentors in-person, after months of online meetings. Students and mentors reflected on the impact of mentorship in their lives, and students shared about their exciting accomplishments and summer plans. We are grateful to all of our amazing volunteer mentors!

Ambassador Program
This Spring, our five student ambassadors, all graduating College Bound high school seniors, participated in our first-ever "in-house" professional development series. Strengthening their soft skills, our ambassadors were challenged to improve their leadership, public speaking, and self-advocacy skills. Capping off the series with our final session on job interview etiquette, we are beyond excited to send these students off with a jumpstart on their professional expeditions.

Wellness Workshops
Therapy dogs from Palo Alto Humane visit FCE students monthly. Students love to take a break from their busy evenings to play with our fluffy friends.

Academic Excellence (Afterschool Academic Tutoring)
Students love our new space! Most evenings, we have a full house as multiple programs are happening concurrently. We are thrilled that students have an inviting and comfortable learning center! We even have students coming in during their spring break to use the quiet work space!

Please Consider a Corporate Matching Gift
Did you know your donation to Foundation for a College Education (FCE) could go twice as far—at no extra cost to you? Many companies offer matching gift programs that will match their employees’ charitable contributions dollar for dollar. That means your generosity can go even further in helping students of color reach their college goals. Your generosity already makes a difference. Let's make that difference go even further, together. For questions or support with your matching gift, contact our Executive Director, Elizabeth Wells, at (650) 454-8785 or ewells@collegefoundation.org.
