Greetings!
The Second Sunday of Lent calls us to trust God and listen to His Son. In the first reading, Abram leaves everything familiar behind, showing us that faith means trusting God even when the future is unclear. God’s call always leads to something greater.
In the Gospel, Jesus is transfigured before Peter, James, and John, revealing His divine glory. The Father’s voice tells them, “Listen to Him.” This is the heart of Lent: learning to follow Jesus, even when the path includes sacrifice.
St. Paul reminds us that faith is not always easy. Following Christ may involve suffering, but God gives us strength and grace, and His plan leads to true and eternal life.
Every Mass reflects this journey. We come before Jesus, encounter Him in the Eucharist, and are strengthened to return to daily life with renewed faith. This Lent, we are invited to let go of fear, trust God’s plan, and walk forward in faith, knowing that He is always with us.

We were truly blessed and overjoyed to send our Catechumens and Candidates to the Rite of Sending last Sunday. What an incredible grace it is to witness their “yes” to God! This year, 1,600 catechumens and candidates are preparing to participate in the Rite of Election—an inspiring increase from last year’s 1,200. Their growing numbers are a beautiful reminder that the Holy Spirit is powerfully at work in our archdiocese.
Please continue to hold these wonderful members of our community in your prayers. May our support, encouragement, and love lift them up as they continue their journey toward full communion with the Church. Their faith inspires all of us to walk more deeply with Christ.

Join us for our first Stations of the Cross and Soup Supper
tonight Thursday, February 26, 2026.
We will begin in the quiet reverence of the church, walking with Christ through the Stations of the Cross as we enter more deeply into the mystery of His suffering, compassion, and love. Afterward, we will gather in Rossman Hall to share a simple soup supper with fellow parishioners. This evening is lovingly supported by St. Vincent de Paul.
All are warmly welcomed to enter into prayer, reflection, and fellowship as we journey together through this sacred season. May this gathering help enrich your 40‑day pilgrimage, draw your heart closer to Christ, and open your soul to the grace and renewal God desires for you during Lent.

Starting This Week
We welcome you to Friday Mass at 8:30am for Lent
Attending a daily Mass during Lent deepens our spiritual life, strengthens our connection to the Eucharist, and offers the daily grace we need to resist temptation. This sacred rhythm transforms the 40 days of Lent into a season of intentional prayer and reflection. By coming together in worship, we open our hearts more fully to God’s will and grow in union with Christ—the true purpose of the Lenten journey.

Looking for a joyful way to share your time, talents, and treasure?
We’d love to welcome you to our volunteer team! We’re seeking friendly faces to help at one Mass, one weekend a month.
Our volunteers brew coffee, set up the donut area, and help create a warm, welcoming space where parishioners can gather and connect. If you’re a regular at the 8:30am or 11:00am Mass, this is a wonderful way to serve the community and meet new people.
Please contact Irene Jones at ijones@rcparish.org.
Come join our amazing group of volunteers—we’d be thrilled to have you!

Many heartfelt thanks to every volunteer and donor who has taken part in our Red Cross Blood Drives. Because of your generosity, compassion, and willingness to give, we have been able to make an extraordinary impact. In just over a year, your contributions have helped potentially save 197 lives—197 people who now have renewed hope and a chance to heal.
Your kindness reaches far beyond a single moment; it strengthens our community, uplifts families in crisis, and reminds us what is possible when we come together with purpose.
Thank you for showing what true, life‑changing generosity looks like.

We are looking for "Guardian Angels" to help support
teens who are hoping to attend the retreat.
We are happy to announce that our 7th-12th graders will have the opportunity to experience our first overnight retreat since before Covid! It's coming up next month, March 6th-8th. The true cost is about $200 per teen, and we are asking them to pay $120 to keep it as accessible as possible. We don't want cost to be a barrier to entry, and are looking for "Guardian Angels" to help us pay for the retreat and perhaps sponsor a teen or two.

Prayer for the Rights of Workers and the Dignity of Work
Prayer for the Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers Lord God, Master of the Vineyard, How wonderful that you have invited us who labor by the sweat of our brow
to be workers in the vineyard and assist your work to shape the world around us. As we seek to respond to this call, make us attentive to those who seek work but cannot find it.
Help us listen to the struggles of those who work hard to provide for their families
but still have trouble making ends meet. Open our eyes to the struggles of those exploited and help us speak for just wages and safe conditions, the freedom to organize, and time for renewal. For work was made for humankind and not humankind for work.
Let it not be a vehicle for exploitation but a radiant expression of our human dignity.
Give all who labor listening hearts that we may pause from our work to receive your gift of rest. Fill us with your Holy Spirit that you might work through us to let your justice reign. Amen.

QCD
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who meet the age requirements old or older to donate up to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.
RMD
Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you meet the age requirements. Changes in deduction rules and limitations will impact how much you can deduct for donations.
Meeting the age requirements, you may qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.
Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.
Contact your financial advisor for updated and relevant tax advise.
Will, Living Trust & Estate Planning
Include Resurrection Catholic Parish or School in your will, trust or estate planning. Your gift – no matter how big or small – ensures our church, school, or school endowment fund can continue all of the incredible work we do, and you will be making an impact in the lives of others for many years to come.
We are deeply grateful for your consideration in supporting
Resurrection Catholic Church and Resurrection Catholic Parish School
with your generous donations. Thank you for keeping us in your hearts.
