Holiday Weekend Safety Reminders
- For the safety of guests attending the events and fireworks show on July 4th, the flying of drones throughout the day and evening is NOT allowed anywhere in the Harbour Town area and especially over the adjacent waterways.
- The flying of a drone in the area could result in the delay of the fireworks show or even the stopping of the fireworks show once it has started. There is the potential that the operating system for the drone could affect the firing system for the fireworks thus causing an extremely dangerous situation for the fireworks crew on the barge.
-
The use of personal fireworks and paper lanterns in Sea Pines is strictly prohibited and enforced.
We request that any safety concerns or issues with fireworks within the community be promptly reported to our Security Department by calling 843.671.7170.

Turtle Nesting Season: Follow the Guidelines Below to HelpNesting Sea Turtles and Their Hatchlings
|
|
-
Lights out: The Town of HHI requires all indoor and outdoor light fixtures that are visible from the beach to be shielded so the bulbs are not visible or turned off between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. during sea turtle nesting season from May 1 – October 31.
-
Keep the beach clean: Never leave beach umbrellas, chairs, beach accessories on the beach overnight. Nesting female turtles may get tangled in them, and for hatchlings, they are often impassable and disorienting. Place all trash and recyclables in the appropriate receptacles.
-
Fill in holes: Baby turtles often fall into the holes left on the beach and get disoriented and fall to prey.
-
Observe from a distance: Use a zoom lens and do not shine lights near the nests.
-
Don’t harass: Don’t pick up a baby turtle to “help it” on its journey to the water.
-
Leave nest sites alone: Do not disturb sea turtle nest markers. Obey these signs and please stay out of marked areas.

Hilton Head Island Beach Law Reminders
- No alcohol (liquor), beer or wine.
- No dogs or other animals are allowed on the beach between 10 am & 5 pm, starting the Friday before Memorial Day (5/27) thru Labor Day (9/5).
- No shovels made of materials other than wood and/or plastic; the shovels must be less than 30”(L) and 6”(W).
-
No holes greater than 12” deep. Please fill in holes before you leave. This helps protect our beach visitors from getting injured if they step in a hole and our sea turtles from getting trapped or injured if they fall in a hole.
- No tents, towels, chairs, coolers or other personal belongings should be left overnight.
