The Cumberland County Health Department is happy to announce that we will be administering booster doses of the Moderna vaccine to those who qualify under the CDC new guidelines.
The Cumberland County Health Department is happy to announce that we will be administering booster doses of the Moderna vaccine to those who qualify under the CDC new guidelines. (more qualification info available at Department of Health | News | FDA/CDC Authorize Third Dose of Pfizer, Moderna for Immunocompromised Individuals (nj.gov)) To register for the booster dose, please visit our registration page at www.cumberlandcountynjvaccination.org .

Who Needs an Additional COVID-19 Vaccine?
Currently, CDC is recommending that moderately to severely immunocompromised people receive an additional dose. This includes people who have:
  • Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood
  • Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
  • Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
  • Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
  • Advanced or untreated HIV infection
  • Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response
Please note: People should talk to their healthcare provider about their medical condition, and whether getting an additional dose is appropriate for them

Once on our registration site (CCDOH Registration Site - https://www.cumberlandcountynjvaccination.org/), please look for clinics that are marked as “Booster” (see yellow circled clinic in picture below).

It is important to select one of the booster dose clinics because if you have already registered with us for your first dose, the system will not let you register in any other clinic besides a “booster” dose clinic (when you use the same email address).

  • The CDC and the NJDOH recommend waiting a minimum of 4 weeks between finishing the 2 shot in the series and receiving the booster dose.
  • At this time, there is no recommendation for patients who have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine to get a second dose.
  • We are not currently offering the Pfizer booster dose but we will be adding that as an option in the coming weeks. Please contact the location where you received your initial dose of Pfizer if you need your booster dose sooner then we can provide it.

Finally, while most all of our standard series shot clinics have established a walk in policy for new patients, we are requesting that those seeking the booster dose to please register ahead of time to ensure that we will have the proper number of doses on hand. Our staff has administered over 7,000 completed series of the Moderna vaccine and our current clinic location cannot handle a large influx of people. If we see that there is a larger demand, we will add additional clinic dates to accommodate the surge.

Please call his office today or tomorrow and tell him to support the Infrastructure bill because it is extremely important to New Jersey.
