Our next session will be on Thursday, November 19th, 2pm eastern (11 am Pacific/12 pm Mountain/1 pm Central) where we will discuss your adaptation projects.

Before next session:
  • Review the Quick Start Guide to Climate Adaptation (also listed below) and print off paper copies of any resources you want to take to your site visit.
  • Select a project site to use for your field activity.
  • Tell us about your plans for visiting your site using this form. Due November 9.
  • Visit your project site, using the worksheets from the Quick Start Guide to support your thinking and discussion. Due November 16.
  • Share a photo of your site and a copy of your workbook with course instructors using this Google Drive folder (optional).

  • Get ready to share your experience and ideas during our November 19 session. To help quickly share your key ideas, we'll be using a "Mad Libs" format. Take a look and consider what key words you'd include for your project!

"Here at ___(place)___, we care about ___(value related to place)___. We’re concerned that climate change will ___(climate impact)___ and ___(climate impact)___. We plan to ____(adaptation action)____ which also provides benefits for ___(co-benefit) __

Course Guide

This is the main document that we'll be using throughout this course. The guide draws on the five-step Adaptation Workbook process to help you design and implement adaptation actions in your work, with a special eye toward stewardship activities.

Note: This version has been updated from the draft shared before the course, so please download and use this version!
Resources
Climate adaptation projects can be a useful way to demonstrate adaptation ideas to stakeholders. To help get started on outreach, the Land Trust Alliance has outlined several Recommendations for Communicating about Climate Change.

To see adaptation projects in your area or those focused on similar resources, visit the Adaptation Demonstrations page and browse or filter examples.
