Executive Director's Notes

By Franҫoise Rhodes

I hope your 4th of July weekend was a good one. At the Chamber we had several calls from pet owners looking to get away to a place where there weren't and fireworks, we let them know that Borrego Springs is the place to be for peace and quiet.

I also wanted to point out that one of the reasons I have the news section in the Chamber Weekly is to show everyone that Borrego Springs is relevant year round, this is key in marketing. Seeing the name of a location on a regular basis is a driving force for tourism. Granted most won't come during the summer but it will be on their list during our fabulous season.

Please share the RFP's posted below.

One last note, the parade, vendor and sponsors applications for Borrego Days will be posted shortly and added to the eblast. ALL participating vendors must have a CA Seller's Permit per SD County Guidelines, this includes nonprofits and artists. It will be the Chambers responsibility to have those on file, so please be ready when you apply. Thank you!

Rams Hill Maintenance & Aerification

Golfers, please note: The golf course at Rams Hill will be closed for aerification and maintenance from July 7–17, reopening for play on July 18. In an effort to provide optimal playing conditions, we’ve chosen to remain closed for this extended 11-day window — longer than most SoCal golf courses. This schedule allows us to perform aggressive maintenance across the entire golf course without impacting golfers in the short term.

We will close again for additional aerification from August 11–13. This second round of maintenance will be less intrusive than our July program and is not expected to impede play upon reopening on August 14.

We appreciate your patience as we take a little extra time to care for our desert oasis to perform these necessary maintenance practices.

Did You Know?

July is the seventh month of the year and is named after Roman dictator Julius Caesar. It's known for being a hot summer month in the Northern Hemisphere and is associated with the Dog Days of Summer.
