From the Desk of Pastor Steve

Greetings,

Happy Wednesday!

I hope and pray this week is going well for you! We had our annual Charge Conference this past Sunday in Yukon. Steve and Gina Calhoun, Pam Cooper and myself represented the church and everything went smooth. A few highlights from that. We have submitted the names of 823 people for removal from our membership roles. This is a 3 year process and this was year one. These are people who we do not have contact info on and after consulting with some of the "senior" members of the church do not know who they are. Work will continue on this.

My compensation package was also approved for the next year and no changes were made for the coming year at my request. We also approved our list of leaders for 2027 with the exception of 1 for finance committee. That will fall on ad council to approve a person for that committee in the new year.

We are currently in our stewardship month so I ask that your pray about this in the coming weeks and not only financially, but with your time as well. More to come on that!

We have some activities at the church over the next 30 days so pay close attention to the calendar for those!

Have a great week!

Pastor Steve

Our Scripture Focus

2 Corinthians 9: 6-15(NIV)

Generosity Encouraged

6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:

“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;

  their righteousness endures forever.

10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. 15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

Boiler Room Prayer Group

Prayer is an essential part of our Christian lives. Many people pray in their cars, at home, before bed, after waking up....etc.

Epworth has a prayer group called the "Boiler Room" because prayer represents power just like a boiler does. The "Boiler Room" Prayer group is open to all and meets Sundays at 4pm in the Chapel. Come join us as we pray as a church for those in need of prayer! Want to make a prayer request? Use the button below!

You can always find the latest bulletin on our website or app!
