Carline & Walker Tag Pick-Up

Carline

Parents and guardians may begin picking up carline numbers starting August 4th, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Carline numbers will also be available for pick up at Meet the Teacher & Parent Orientations.

Front & Back Carline

Front Carline: Yellow Carline Tag

Back Carline: Green Carline Tag

🚗 Important Reminders:

  • You may request as many carline numbers as you need for your household.
  • Only school-issued carline numbers will be accepted at pickup.
  • You must have your carline number with you and visible in order to pick up your scholar through the carline.
  • If you arrive without a carline number, you will be asked to wait until 3:30 PM and then you may proceed with signing your scholar out at the front desk.

Walkers/Bike Riders: New Procedures

Parents and guardians may begin picking up walkers/bike rider dismissal tags starting August 4th, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Walkers/Bike rider dismissal tags will also be available for pick up at Meet the Teacher & Parent Orientations.

Cars may not be parked in a school zone during hours of dismissal

Kindergarten and 1st-grade students will not be allowed to walk home independently. Every child/family will be issued a dismissal tag to ensure they are matched to their parent(s) or designated adult. At 3:25 PM a line will form at the front building black gate for parents to show the wallet-sized dismissal tag to the staff member to pick up their child. If a kindergarten or first grade student walks home with an older sibling, parent permission should be in writing through the permission slip form.

Second, Third, and Fourth-grade scholars who are designated as walkers will be released from the black gate at 3:25 PM.

Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe and efficient!

Update Student Emergency Info

As we strive to ensure the safety and well-being of your children, we kindly remind you to update your contact information as well as your child's and specify who is authorized to transport your child in your Ascender Parent Portal. Please note that we will not be using emergency contact cards this year, so it is essential that your child's information is current and accurate. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a secure environment for all students.

Summer has just begun, but now is the time to be aware of school start dates, Spring Break, Early Dismissals, and more.

2025 - 2026 After School Activities

We are excited to announce the after-school activities for the 2025 - 2026 school year! Each scholar may enroll in one after-school activity, with the option to choose music as a second activity. Choir is the only exception, allowing scholars to participate in both choir and another club.

To enroll, please complete the attached application by August 26, 2025. In the application, scholars will answer a few questions and rate their preferred activities. We will do our best to accommodate each scholar's first choice!

Upon acceptance into an activity, each teacher will send a welcome email by September 3, 2025, detailing procedures and providing a club schedule for the year. Clubs will commence the week of September 8, 2025, for the Fall session, and January 12, 2026, for the Spring session. Scholars will walk to their clubs at 3:05 PM and will return to the BACK carline at 4:00 PM.

We look forward to another exciting year of after-school activities and can't wait to see our scholars thrive!

Please review school immunization requirements to ensure your child is properly immunized for the 2025 - 2026 school year. Note that required immunizations include the 7th grade immunization for Tdap and Meningococcal.

If immunizations are required for your student, you must turn in a copy of your student(s) shot record or a notarized Affidavit for Exemption of Immunizations to Student Care no later than August 12, 2025, the first day of school. Requests for an Exemption of Immunizations can be found here.

If you have any questions, please contact your campus Student Care Coordinator, Ms. Ramirez (Grammar).

Families are now able to access their students’ EOC and STAAR results easily by going to the Ascender Parent Portal and searching for the Texas Assessment button located under summary.

Summer Reading Lists & Assignments

Reading good books is not only something Griffins do during school hours. We encourage everyone to read, and read well, during the summer months, too! Below are the campus Summer Reading & Assignment lists.

REQUIRED PLANNERS

Specific planners for each grade level are required. Planners must be purchased through the school in order to have the same planner for all scholars in the grade level. Once purchased, we will write the scholar's name on the planner and deliver it to the classroom.

Please be sure to include your scholar's full name and grade level in the description of your order.
