The Planning and Development Department recently launched the Livable Places initiative, which aims to update Houston’s development codes to create more opportunities to strengthen and preserve Houston neighborhoods.

The next virtual Livable Places Action Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8 from 3 to 5 p.m. During this meeting, the Committee will review existing Residential Buffering Ordinance requirements and discuss the potential for amendments based on public comments.

Share your feedback using an interactive map tool. Let the Committee know about your experiences with Residential Buffering, which applies to tall structures built next to single-family homes.

Participate in this interactive activity on our engagement platform, letstalkhouston.org:
  • drop a pin on the map tool
  • upload photos
  • leave comments
  • answer a few short questions about tall structures in your community

This activity provides a platform for residents to provide comments and direct our attention to specific high-density sites. These comments will be compiled and presented to the Committee in January.
