The US Postal Service has proposed new regulations governing mail-in and absentee ballots in federal elections. The League has prepared guidance and sample comment language for all state and local Leagues to submit public comments opposing the proposed regulations. Individual members may submit public comments per the LWVUS Action Alert HERE.

• Local Leagues: Submit comments from your local League according to the prepared guidance.

As you know, LWVMA and LWVUS are engaged in ongoing litigation challenging these proposed regulations, we ask that any comments adhere closely to the sample language provided. The deadline to submit comments is July 2, 2026 at 5:00 PM Eastern. Comments sent by email MUST include a name and physical address.
