Gameday Information for WKU vs. UTEP

WKU Football will face UTEP at 7 tonight in a Red Out at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPNU. Here are some gameday event reminders for the campus community:

Beginning at 2:30 p.m., WKU is asking offices to operate with minimal staff and is encouraging employees choosing to leave campus to do so quickly. This will help with parking and traffic as the campus transitions to event operations in support of the game. Those choosing to leave will not be charged vacation time. Classes will continue as scheduled.

Topper Walk, a tradition where the football team arrives at PS1 and walks down Avenue of Champions to Feix Field led by the band and spirit groups, will begin at 4:40 p.m.

As a reminder, all faculty and staff receive two free game tickets, two complimentary drinks (bottled water or soda) and two free food items (hotdog or popcorn) for tonight's game. You can pick up tickets and concession coupons at the Diddle Arena ticket office today until 3:30 p.m.

The first 5,000 fans will receive a red towel featuring Big Red's eyes that the Hilltoppers will wear on their red helmets.

Spotlight: Natalie Spiva

In 2020, when Natalie Spiva was a high school senior in Memphis, Tennessee, the idea of where to attend college was overwhelming. She wasn't sure where she would end up, but she knew two things for sure: she wanted a change by going out of state and she wanted to remain somewhere warm. Her mother reached out to an acquaintance who used to work in the Mahurin Honors College, who suggested exploring Western Kentucky University and its academic offerings.
