Greetings!
We are taking one more small step toward normalcy! As of Monday, May 11, we will no longer be quarantining returned books, and will re-open the book drops at each service desk. Our outdoor book drops will remain open 24/7 for your convenience and safety.
Be well!

Common Good Grant for Homebound Delivery Service
We're are so pleased to be one of eleven organizations chosen to receive a grant this year from Bowdoin College's Common Good Program. The $2,500 grant, which was announced at a virtual awards ceremony earlier this week, will allow us to implement a Homebound Delivery Service for those patrons who are confined to their homes due to age, illness, or disability. We hope to start offering the service in early July, but if you know of someone who could benefit from the program or want to sign up yourself, the details are outlined in our Adult Programs and Services section, below.
We're equally proud to be in the good company of three additional Bath-based recipients, including the Bath Area Backpack Program, Merrymeeting Food Council, and Midcoast Literacy. Congratulations to all, and thank you to Bowdoin College and the Common Good Grant Committee!

Homebound Delivery Service: Bringing the Library to You! As we emerge from the pandemic, we are more and more aware of the many patrons who are not able to come to the Library to borrow items -- due to age, illness, disability, or other limitations. If you are homebound -- temporarily or permanently -- or know of someone who is, please consider signing up for our new Homebound Delivery Service.
Thanks to a generous grant from Bowdoin College's Common Good Program, we will be delivering library resources to eligible patrons in our service area beginning in early July. For more details on the program, how to get in touch with Pam, the program coordinator, or to sign up for the service, click here.

History Room Live:
The Tinney-Price Family of Bath
Friday, May 14 at 4:00 p.m.
We welcome Marla Davis to History Room Live as she presents “The Tinney-Price Family of Bath, Maine: Contributions to Community and Country,” May 14th on Zoom.
Marla’s talk will expand upon her February 10, 2021 contribution to the library’s Black History Month Teach-In and Read-In, a short video which focused on the life of George Tinney Sr. In the course of her research, Marla’s effort to document one of Bath’s African-American entrepreneurs grew to include the story of his ancestors and descendants in the Tinney and Price families, from Demerara (Guyana) to Maine and beyond. Marla will share what she learned of the family’s story and demonstrate how different resources can be used to diversify local history.
Registration is required. Please register here.
