Dear Holy Cross School Community,

I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Holy Cross School - New Orleans. It is with great enthusiasm that I step into this role, and I look forward to working alongside our dedicated Holy Cross Educators, talented students, and supportive families to continue fostering an enriching and faith-filled learning environment. Holy Cross School has a rich tradition of guiding our boys to be successful young men, and I am honored to take the leadership position to fulfill that responsibility. Our purpose is not only to educate the minds of our young men but also to cultivate their hearts.

Education has always been my passion, and I believe in the power of collaboration, respect, and innovation in shaping the success of our students. Bringing twenty-seven years of experience in education, my goal is to build upon the sturdy foundation already established at Holy Cross School while also seeking new opportunities to inspire faith development, creativity, and academic achievement.

This summer, the School Leadership Team (SLT) is actively planning and preparing for an outstanding start to the 2025-2026 academic school year. We have a tremendous team, and I am excited to have Anne Chabreck (Academics) and Mister Kirkwood (Student Affairs) serve as my two Assistant Principals. Our team will strive to make sure that organization, structure, and communication are prioritized in our planning, which will ensure that our students will receive the attention, discipline, and academic challenges necessary for them to achieve their full potential.

We have a highly active June, but I would be happy to sit with our parents on July 9 at 5:00 p.m. to put names with faces. I look forward to meeting each of you and working together to make this year an exceptional one. Please feel free to reach out or to stop by to introduce yourself—I am eager to get to know our school community. Go Tigers!

All my best,

Brad Humphreys

Principal

Holy Cross School Partners with

Ochsner Health

Holy Cross is excited to announce a new partnership with Ochsner Health starting with the 2025-2026 school year. Through this partnership, a dedicated nurse will be on campus to serve our students.

Before the start of the school year, new Ochsner School Nurse Consent Forms must be completed by parents/guardians. Students with incomplete forms will not be able to receive treatment or services from the school nurse. By signing these forms, parents/guardians will also grant permission for the nurse to administer over-the-counter medication. These forms have been updated and are now available in Magnus Health, and give the school nurse authorization to provide services during the school year.

Signed forms are for services rendered on the Holy Cross campus and will not make a student a patient of Ochsner Hospital. Contact Jennifer Monaghan at jmonaghan@hcnola.org for any Magnus Health questions.

Financial Information and Updates

Holy Cross School Finance Welcome Letter

2025-2026 Course & Book Fees

Need-Based Financial Assistance Update:

Please note that all merit and Need-Based Financial Assistance awarded by Holy Cross School was communicated via email to both the student and parent emails on May 15, 2025. If you did not receive an award letter, then your son did not receive assistance for the upcoming school year. Need-Based Financial Assistance was awarded to students who had a calculated financial need resulting from the Blackbaud Financial Aid application process. All scholarships have been reflected in Blackbaud Tuition Management. If you have further questions, then please contact Sue Ducros at sducros@holycrosstigers.com or 504-942-2430.

Outside Scholarship Update:

Please refer to Holy Cross’s website for further information on available outside scholarships (Tuition, Scholarships & Financial Assistance - Holy Cross School). For all outside scholarships, your son MUST be enrolled as a student for the upcoming year at Holy Cross in order to be eligible for the below scholarships. If your son is not enrolled for the upcoming school year, then the Partnerships below will not award the scholarship.

LA Gator Scholarship: On June 12, 2025 the Louisiana Legislature did not approve funding for the LA Gator scholarship program. The Louisiana Government approved a budget only to continue to support the current voucher program and did not approve the additional funding requested to support a more lenient-publicly funded private education program which would have funded the LA Gator Scholarship. Holy Cross School Leadership is as disappointed by this news as our families.

ACE Scholarship: The 2025-2026 ACE Scholarship award notifications have been sent to families for the 2025-2026 school year. ACE Scholarship amounts will be applied in Tuition Management prior to EOD June 13, 2025.

Important Notes for Families Provided by ACE:

  • A large number of students who were incorrectly deemed prior school ineligible. ACE is currently awaiting LDOE to recheck these students’ eligibility. If deemed income and prior school eligible, these students will be awarded.
  • Parents should be using the phone number and email noted above for any questions/concerns.
  • If a family needs to decline a child’s ACE award, they can do so in FACTS.
  • ACE may make more awards if more funding becomes available; therefore, continue to families with incomplete applications are strongly encouraged to complete the application as soon as possible.
  • For this reason and the reason for incorrect prior school eligibility determinations, ACE has not sent out any denials.

Any questions regarding ACE Scholarships should be directed to the ACE support team at lasupport@acescholarships.org or 856-746-6521.

ARETE Scholarship: The 2025-2026 Arete Scholarship award notifications have been sent to families for the 2025-2026 school year. Arete Scholarship amounts will be applied in Tuition Management prior to EOD June 13, 2025.

If you plan to move your child to another school, then please contact Arete at maryhw@aretescholars.org to let them know which participating school your child will be attending. If your school of choice is not a current participating school, then please direct them to the website to complete a participation agreement at AreteScholars.org.

Son of a Saint Scholarship: Son of a Saint Scholarship amounts were also recently communicated and will be applied in Tuition Management prior to EOD June 13, 2025.

Holy Cross Work Study Program:

Holy Cross Work Study Program is available to those students who applied for Need-Based Financial Assistance. A minimum of 50 hours is required to participate in the Work Study Program, and failure to comply with this minimum will result in the inability to receive Need-Based Financial Assistance or participate in the program in future years. A mandatory parent and student meeting is required before the program can be commenced to review the program guidelines. Please contact Eric Desormeaux for additional information at edesormeaux@holycrosstigers.com or 504-942-3100.

Delinquent Tuition Status:

Students whose tuition accounts are delinquent as of July 31, 2025 or thereafter will not be able to attend Orientation and will be suspended from school (no school or extracurricular activities) until the tuition and fees are paid in full. There will not be any opportunities to further extend payment dates.

Magnus Health:

The required forms in Magnus Health have been updated for the Financial Responsible Party Social Security Card Upload requirement. This request is only required for those families who pay tuition and fees on a monthly payment plan in Blackbaud Tuition Management. If you pay annually or bi-annually, this is not required so when prompted, please answer “No". The image below is what you will see within Magnus Health.

HOLYCROSSTIGERS.COM BECOMES HCNOLA.ORG

This past month, the Holy Cross IT Department has begun the process of converting all institutional email addresses from holycrosstigers.com to hcnola.org.

All Holy Cross Educator emails have now been successfully converted. The next phase is to convert all student email addresses. During this period, students will not have access to their Holy Cross email accounts. This phase should take around two weeks. Upon completion, the IT Department will send a video with instructions on password changes and how to access email via outlook.com.

All emails sent to holycrosstigers.com after the conversion will automatically redirect to hcnola.org. Contact communications@hcnola.org with any questions.

Uniform Updates

Starting for the 2025-2026 school year, every student in 5-12 grades will be required to have his legal first and last name embroidered on all uniform shirts and uniform outerwear (sweaters and jackets). This change is for all new uniform purchases and orders moving forward. Students may still wear their previous year’s shirts during the 2025-2026 school year if they are in good condition and properly sized. By updating the uniforms, we will foster a stronger school community in which everyone is recognized and known by our Holy Cross Educators and other students.

Students in PK-4 will now have the option to wear their standard polo uniform shirt or a DRI-FIT polo shirt. Names do not need to be embroidered on shirts, but legal first and last names should be embroidered on uniform outerwear (sweaters and jackets).

All uniforms can be purchased at Skobels. For guidance on uniforms, please refer to our Uniform Policy or contact communications@hcnola.org.
