Greetings!
I'm asking you to make a tax-deductible gift and help Be An Elf bring smiles to little faces on Christmas morning. Every year the USPS® permits the public read and adopt real letters to Santa, and some of the letters are heartbreaking.
One letter said, "I'm sad this Christmas because my Mom lost her job. I'm not asking for much, but I feel ashamed of my clothes sometimes at school..." Some are from single moms who say their children are still too young to write, and explain why they're having a hard year. Many list their kids' ages and clothing sizes.
This month
BeAnElf.org and our thousands of volunteers answered the call. Our 501c3 charity uses donations made at our site to further our mission of adopting the saddest letters, and sending gifts directly to the families who wrote them. We're not affiliated with USPS
® but we support their program by increasing public awareness and recruiting thousands of new volunteers who learn about the USPS Operation Santa
®, adopt children's letters and send their own gifts. Our website serves as an excellent guide for newcomers, and we also provide tips for struggling families seeking gifts for their children.
Letters we adopt from parents are often cries for help. They write that they lost their jobs, have health or other life challenges, and have little money to buy their kids gifts. Many say their kids are still too young to write.
Thanks to a $10,000 per month in-kind grant from Google for advertising, we recruit thousands of new volunteers every year. Our press releases and posts in social media also build public awareness of the USPS® program. This year our press release was picked up by the Associated Press, Yahoo Finance, and 400 other news outlets - see our Press Releases page. Not least, our sign-up list for volunteers has now grown to over 6,000, and we'll remind our volunteers around Thanksgiving that it's time to adopt a letter to Santa.
Your tax-deductible contribution to Be An Elf will empower our group to send gifts that will bring a ton of joy every Christmas. We still have hundreds of heartbreaking letters to Santa (people email us too), but not enough funds to adopt them.
We only adopt as many letters to Santa as our donations permit. We're an all-volunteer 501c3 group, so your tax-deductible contribution goes a long way here.
