Queering Digital - Artists In Response to Anti Trans Legislation

Friday, March 14, 2025, 6pm

Pacific Design Center, 8687 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood

Blue Building, 5th floor, B-504

Free

The “Queering Digital” art exhibit, curated by Steve Galindo and Jamison Edgar, explores the social ramifications of digital technology through the lens of queer, trans, and non-binary artists working in Los Angeles. Over time, queer individuals have used technology and media not only as tools for survival, but also as sources of radical liberation—transforming inanimate objects, ideas, and movements into powerful symbols of resistance and self-expression. Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to trace these digital echoes across a range of visual mediums and digital systems.

This project is supported in part by an arts grant from the City of West Hollywood.

Amid the profound challenges and heartbreak caused by the devastating fires across the Los Angeles region, the City of West Hollywood’s Arts Division stands in heartfelt solidarity with everyone affected. The destruction has impacted countless lives – claiming loved ones, displacing families, and devastating homes and communities. We extend our deepest gratitude to the first responders who have worked tirelessly to protect and safeguard our neighborhoods.

As a city built on creativity and connection, we believe in the power of art to heal, unite, and inspire. In these challenging times, we invite everyone to join us in supporting the recovery effort by attending exhibitions and events, contributing to relief efforts, and championing the artists and cultural spaces that shape our vibrant community.

The City has activated its West Hollywood Responds program to encourage contributions to organizations providing shelter, aid, and resources to those in need. In addition, artists, art workers, and arts organizations that have been affected by the wildfires can find resources on the National Coalition for Arts Preparedness and Emergency Response (NCAPER), Grantmakers for the Arts, California Arts Council, LA County Department of Arts and Culture, and the LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund.
