The Richard Nixon Mini-Museum
And the Case of the Mysterious Limo
________________________
Following the arduous delivery of our caboose, Yorba Lindans came together to clean and stock the Richard Nixon Mini-Museum. It was an important task given that Yorba Linda is birthplace of our 37th President.
The collection of artifacts grew and was proudly displayed inside the caboose. Excitement spread as people from other cities came to see and enjoy a quickly vanishing part of railway history. And, they came to see the museum that honored the legacy of Yorba Linda’s favorite son, Richard Nixon. Newspapers tracked the progress and popularity of the museum, often with full page articles. Our caboose was a hit!
On December 30, 1973, Yorba Linda volunteers sent a letter to President Nixon telling him about our Nixon Mini-Museum. On January 11, 1974, a letter arrived from the White House congratulating our community on the project. Among other collectibles and the letter, was a flag that had flown over the Capitol.
One weekend, not long after receiving the letter, a mysterious black limousine pulled up near the caboose. Men in dark suits and sunglasses got out and peered in the windows. This was only observed from a distance, so it is impossible to know exactly who these men were. Speculation was that one of the special visitors was President Nixon, accompanied by Secret Service agents. City members were honored and energized by the visit!
Preserving and honoring history is what makes a town special and unique, especially with an international audience as the Home and Birthplace of Richard Nixon. What will become of the first Nixon museum? Will the City restore it, sell it, donate it or will the caboose eventually be condemned due to neglect?

Yorba Linda Man and Colorado Man Plead Guilty to Fatally Shooting
Wild Burros in Mojave Desert and Unlawfully Possessing Firearms
____________________________
RIVERSIDE, California – An Orange County man and a Colorado man pleaded guilty today to federal criminal charges for shooting three wild burros (donkeys) to death in the Mojave Desert in San Bernardino County in late 2021. Christopher James Arnet, 32, of Loveland, Colorado, and Cameron John Feikema, 36, of Yorba Linda, California, each pleaded guilty to one felony count of possession of an unregistered firearm, namely a short-barreled rifle, and one misdemeanor count of maliciously causing the death of a burro on public lands.
At approximately 1 a.m. on November 6, 2021, Arnet and Feikema collectively fired at least 13 rounds from their firearms, striking and killing three wild burros. Arnet fired at least five rounds from his firearm while Feikema fired at least four rounds from his weapon. One burro was shot near its spine towards its hind legs, which paralyzed the burro’s hind legs and caused the animal severe pain before it died. A bullet removed from that burro was fired from Arnet’s firearm

Why did the HOA wait two days before contacting OC sheriffs department? Either they were afraid of harming East Lake’s reputation or afraid of the teenagers ‘Karen’ parents. They sure weren’t thinking of the safety of the security guard or safety in the community . Such a disappointment.
Janice Robertson Chappell
Recently after my friends son left a party in Yorba Linda a gang of 7 teenage boys from Anaheim hills attacked him. One guy came from behind and grabbed him by the neck putting him on the grass. (Then when a friend of his from Yorba Linda High School tried to help him he got hit in the face and back of the head.) Then the guy that grabbed him around his neck started choking him. He tried fighting back they slammed him to the ground. They then started kicking him in the head stepping on his face. He was taken to the ER. He couldn't eat for days. The police and detectives are investigating. They were able to identify several of the teenage boys from a video that was taken that night. One of the teenage boys was already expelled from Canyon High School. It appears they're bad news.. The district coordinator recognized 2 of the boys. They are no longer a part of the school district. It appears they were all from Anaheim Hills.
It sounds like it could be the same kids....Maybe they could compare videos.

How to Remove Skunk Smells-Opinion
From a post on Facebook
________________________________
The best way we’ve found to remove the smell of skunk is:
1 bottle hydrogen peroxide,
1 tablespoon dish soap
1/4 cup baking soda
Sponge
Put first two in bowl, have the stinky one ready in sink and just before you sponge the mixture on add baking soda. Be VERY careful not to get it in nose or eyes. Massage through hair. Let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing. Use your regular soap, rinse, dry. You literally can let them sleep on your bed after with no issues.

Yorba Linda Time Lapse
The videos below are listed in order from newest to oldest. Should you choose to watch them you will see that the content, presentation, and duration has grown with time. Along the way much was learned and new techniques employed. As new videos are created, it is my goal to continue this trend.
The availability of old photographs of our city is what makes these videos possible. I have pretty much "borrowed" everything currently on the internet, but will continue the search. Should anyone have old, interesting, family snapshots, home video, or photographs of Yorba Linda (and surrounding areas) and are willing to share them, please contact me at: grandspud@yahoo.com Larry
