Greetings from C. Darby Ulery, founder of the "Let's Go! Fairhope" weekly list of local events information and event-related resources for the 36532.

This week's highlights:

• The Blind Tiger's opening plans
• Two new support groups help vets, first responders and others
• Fairhope is having a pinball tournament, LEGO competition, "random conversations," and Emmy's thrift shop will re-open
• A preview of this week's happenings, and more...

Some newsletters cost money to join or read. I'm not asking for $ from readers today, but please do this instead: Help Let's Go! Fairhope by clicking here to answer this one-question FREE poll on Facebook today. It will help greatly. Thank you.

Some easy math in honor of back-to-school season:

• Sunset is occurring a little over six and a half minutes earlier compared to last week
• 130 events were uploaded to the electronic calendar at letsgofairhope.com
• More than 230 people utilized the website last week and there were 5,459 views during the month of July
• We've gained some new readers this week,"Welcome!"

It was fun talking with Michelle Prouty, owner of Corner Copia Gardens, about some of the events they are doing out at the beautiful atrium space at HYW 181 and 98. On August 15th, "The Lost Art of Random Conversation" will be happening from 6-7:30 PM. What a hoot! I can't make it there that evening, so someone PLEASE go and tell me about it.

To submit event information, find the copy-paste form on the website. You can always call 251-929-GOGO for some good old-fashioned conversation about local events-related ideas, questions, and critique which is always welcome.

-Events-Related News-

When is The Blind Tiger REALLY OPENING in Fairhope?

Let’s Go! Fairhope obtained the 20/20 vision for this much-anticipated restaurant on the pier from Thomas Genin, owner of The Blind Tiger Fairhope, along with Kevin Preble, Kitchen Manager, and Richard Harlen, Beverage Manager.

Click here to read the article including current status as of early-August 2024, menu insights, opening plans, and answers to "What took so long?"

L-R behind the bar:

Richard Harlen, Beverage Manager

Thomas Genin, owner of The Blind Tiger Fairhope

Kevin Preble, Kitchen Manager

Richard holds a jar of macerating pineapple habanero shrub which he said dates back to colonial days. It will be fermented and served with tequila and soda water behind the bar.

Genin’s son, Jaxon, reels in the kitchen’s first catch… Just kidding folks. Nice catch, Jaxon! ; )
