Living On Campus

Be sure to check your syr.edu email regularly for the latest updates about your housing assignment. To help you prepare for your arrival on campus, we encourage you to review the information below and get ready to settle into your new home!


Shipping Ahead of Move-In

Begins August 15, 2025


To help lighten the load of your travel to campus, the University is prepared to begin receiving packages on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025. Packages sent prior to this date will be returned to sender.


In preparation for the academic year, it is a good idea to begin exploring the mail and package system for the residence halls, how to write your address and more.

New Student Move-In

Aug. 18-20, 2025


Residential students, or students living on campus, are scheduled to move in on either Aug. 18, 19 or 20, based on your home state/territory. To learn more about move-in assignments, what it looks like when you arrive to campus and more, explore the Arriving webpage!


Please note that this webpage will continue to be updated throughout the remainder of the summer.

Picking Up Your Student ID Card


Students who did not receive their card at orientation, or did not attend New Student Orientation will receive their card at move-in in August.

Commuter Students

Students who have been approved to live off campus during their first year at Syracuse University will have opportunities to take care of their arrival tasks beginning Aug. 18, 2025. This includes:



  1. Visiting Housing, Meal Plan, and I.D. Card Services at 111 Waverly Ave. to pick up your Student I.D. Card.
  2. Picking up your parking permit at Parking and Transportation Services, if needed.

Save the Date: Welcome Week


Your required Orientation program begins with New Student Convocation at 10:00am on August 21. There will be a variety of required and optional meetings and events designed to help you:


  • Meet fellow new students
  • Connect with your academic advisor
  • Make changes to your course schedule
  • And much more!

Resource Spotlight

The Ann and Alfred Goldstein Student Center is a facility located on the South Campus. Located within Goldstein is a Dining Center, a convenience store, a computer cluster, a laundry room, an ATM and a quiet study lounge. Office suites, including Residential Living – South Campus, a Public Safety station and the administrative office for the Student Center, provide residents with various administrative services.
