Belonging: Remembering God’s Faithfulness
This Sunday, we begin our Belonging stewardship campaign by looking back at Northbrook’s story and remembering God’s faithfulness along the way. In 1979, a new congregation began gathering in the Roswell Mall Community Room. By 1981, plans for a permanent home were taking shape, and the first service in Northbrook’s original sanctuary was held in 1982. As the congregation grew, so did the vision for the future, leading to the groundbreaking for our current sanctuary in 1997 and its consecration and first service in 1998.
Through every season, God has worked through the faith, generosity, and commitment of the people who call Northbrook home. The faithful giving of generations has helped create a place where people can worship, grow in faith, serve others, and find a sense of belonging. As we remember where we’ve been, we give thanks for those who came before us and consider how we can continue building a place where future generations will find that same sense of belonging.
